My source was a screencap of that ep and therefore was of a pretty low resolution. This meant that I had to improvise on some things, like the details of the mizugi or on Elstin's fingers because they were just too small to really be able to work from. Also, the frame cut off at Nina's ankle, so I need to improvise a foot for her. The characters themselves are weighted more towards the right side, but since there is material in the right side of the frame (the ORZ'ing Arika), there ends up being a lot of space there and it unbalances the composition and hence, the need for me to add a foot onto Nina so I can shift them over to the right side of the frame.
Suffice to say, this wallpaper was not easy for me as this was only my second attempt at a vector trace, which is also why it took me like freakin' two days working nearly nonstop to do the trace since I was learning as I went. That's also why I just couldn't get Nina's fingers to look right, but I realized that this actually didn't matter since the taskbar covers up her hand anyway.
I couldn't really make out what the bows on the mizugi looked like, so I left them off once I saw that they looked good without them anyway. Similarly, the shading on the hair really didn't look that great either and I liked the effect without the shading. Still, I might go back later on and add it in once I get better at improvising.
I also used the horizontal bars to make up for my lack of skill. By placing the words "my-otome" inside them, they help to trace your eyes to the right and focus you on the yuri and away from any n00b-osity on my part.
...and this time I remembered to add the stupid sig!
