Hmm, I think the scan needs a little bit cleaning. The background is good though.

The background really looks like a paper that was burned by Roy. You chose the right colors and the scan looks good, too. But the extraction of some parts are a bit low and the font of 'fire alchemist' is a bit off. Other than that I like the result of your work.

I'd either loose the glow altogether or make it more like fire burning off of him. Also, I'd be tempted to cg out those glowey blobs on his shoulder (or again make them more prominent throughout the wall). Also, the fire alchemist is just not working. I'd go with horizontal text and try to play around with it so that it either looks like it's on fire (bit cliche) or burnt into the background (better).
I like the bg quite a lot, and the interaction between it and the chara is interesting :).

My suggestion would be to add the alchemy symbol on his glove in the background. Add more to the wall, yes it would.
