Copy/Paste from MT:
I made this a while back, but I'm submitting it now, 'cause it's a promo poster for the ghibli-studio on MT.
Okay this was made from the tiniest image I have ever worked with: >>Click<<. And it was hell. Literally.
Anyways I vectored Nausicaa and this was the only easy thing to make in the whole wallie.
Then I vectored all the basic shapes from the whole bg and then painted over them - that took freaking forever... (thank God I 'borrowed' my sis' tablet ~thanks Hatsu~) I'm really proud of the flowers - they look really good (at least I think so I even made the colouring). After all the painting job I started working with textures and filters (to some extend) and blending modes. I added some (little) noise to the bg since it's a ghibli trademark - they always make the character stand out on all their images and I wanted to maintain this tendency...
After finishing the whole thing I proudly showed it to abul who happily showed me a bigger version of the scan (but it was darker than this on and the flowers were simply black so overall I'm happy I used this). At that time I was simply frustrated that I hadn't looked more thoroughly for a better quality scan... nonetheless I used it as a reference pic and fixed some little things here and there and added some more detailing to the bg.
Details
Layers: Nausicaa - 30 the BG - 70
scan: once again, read the description
sidenote: umm... In my personal ghibli scale Nausicaa is the best Miyazaki work ever.

Hope you like it - critique is very much appreciated.
