D8 I was going to finish a wallpaper for the NEWA contest but my laptop, where my WIP is, won’t turn on anymore.
Anyway, praise is one of the biggest reasons for my loving to draw. It just feels so good… but I don’t get much of it… but I’m addicted to it like drugs, lol (uh-oh, low self-esteem). Recently, I’ve been running really low on praise and that makes me feel like that glob up there (and especially so since a certain cousin who goes by the AP name of xasuka is unknowingly putting me down with her superior marks and plans to go to medical school). So, out of desperateness, I doodled and doodled until this drawing came up. Please give me some praise!!! I’m desperate!!! But by all means, feel free to critique (I know it doesn’t look that good).
So my idea was to have a simple wallpaper with a really colorful character in front of a dull BG. I don’t think she’s colorful enough. And I don’t think I managed to pull off a simple wallpaper. It’s probably too plain or looks unfinished. I couldn’t make her as smiley as I wanted. I don’t like her hand. I couldn't get any hair color to work right. My lineart is not clean enough. >8(
Btw, the original is the 4*3 resolution. Please excuse the text in the widescreen version: I like it there 8D

I think you did a awesome job on this, it's extremely high quality, the colors are bright the edges are smooth, she has a glowing pretty face and the heart is perfect. I love it I really do A+ and a fav

Her hair looks funny, but the whole thing is great, especially when you consider that it's an original anime art ^^ The wall looks simple enough, and her pose is cute ^^ You were aiming to make the girl stand out more...well, her shirt is colorful enough, but maybe you should change her hair color to something brighter, and when coupled with the shading, she will look really colorful ^^

Meeeeh I think you're too harsh on yourself, cus your OAA is just so lovely. :3
Yea the lineart is messy looking, but I still like this a lot. x] Her lips and eyes are so nice, but I wish you added more detail to her eyes :( More thinner eyelashes for example. Oh and some parts of her vectored hair are kinda wonky wobbly. But darn you have talent, keep working at it and your future works will be amazing. @_@
and Ithink you managed to pull off a very nice simple wallpaper. :]

I really like the contrasts between the colors of her eyes and clothes with the grey hues used in the background. It sorta of passes the idea that a simple smile and brighten even the darkest of hours :D

Oh my, this is one of the wonderfullest wallpapers I've seen so far I'm just like you, drawing is an addiction but thanks to uni I've had to put it aside. Great job on the colours and sharpness of the wall; I especially like how everything blends in to a mellow sort of touch. Also, her eyes have such a pretty blending colour! They remind me a bit of "mako" eyes, from the rpg FFVII xD.
Last but not least, just seeing the expression (wonderfully portrayed!) on the girls face lights up my day. This is definitely going to be my desktop setting for a while.

*ahem* Looks like I got a bit too excited. Anyways, I see that you're definitely taking a departure from your normal manga-styled walling with this very pop-art interpretation. As a wall overall, its very solid. But to me, the lack of depth in the eyes, as well as the contrast between the clothing and the hair stand out a bit too much for me. This style is definitely eye-catching, though even in pop-art there's certain factors that play off each other, so you can't keep some things too simple.
Her clothing is detailed, with a nice floral design and even a fabric texture, but when compared to the solid, simply shaped hair it's a weird contrast for me. If the hair was more detailed with more bangs and flowing strands, then the solid black color would be justified. The eyes are vibrant, but they lack a certain depth that can be added. With a wall that is focused on the face, it's important to have some sort of depth in the eyes, especially in anime art.
The background is fairly simple, a bit too much I think some would argue. But otherwise, I think her drawing a heart with her fingers is a brilliant part of the wall, and her expression is very natural. I think one of the most important aspects of drawing manga-style characters is getting the character's expression to be natural and believable, and you've definitely mastered that ability :) Not to mention that for (i'm guessing) your first foray into pop-art walling, you did a pretty good job. You've got the color choices and the basic stylization down, and all you need to do is work on the details ^^

How cute. :) I like the heart idea, like drawing with the fog on a train/bus window.
Nice drawing too, as usual. The patterns in her clothes are really nice too.
However her hair is a bit plain this time; usually your hair is detailed and intricate, but I see what you are doing there. :) She is drawing from inside my computer!! AHHH! Haha

Kirei~ her smile is so charming, so is the overall wall, i think the bg is a bit simple in comparison to the chara, maybe even a lighter color might have worked best, anyway I love the heart and it's just a pretty cute wall, great job as usual~
