This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
A more 3D take on a 2D genre! Take a look at how `Gatoi transformed a screen shot from the popular Samurai Champloo into an almost touchable likeness of the main character, Mugen. With a minimum of details to depict Mugen's deep blue slumber, the background is still very much alive.
This an experimental wallpaper. Specially if it is about Champloo subjects. But I like it so very much!...
...I hope you so.
I made this with a screencap as reference. Here is the image: SCREENCAP.
Enjoy it!!
I honestly think that you did a wonderful job of turning Mugen into a realistic character. I've seen some people try this and fail, but I think you were very successful in doing this. You've captured his features very well and you can definitely tell that's Mugen. I also think adding the fish in there is a nice touch too. It's color contrasts with the background so well and leads your eye straight down towards Mugen.
This has got to be one of the most realistic looking wallpaper that I've ever seen. I'm truly taken a breath back by this. All I can say is that you are very good at what you do and you should never stop doing it, this is simply an amazing wallpaper. At fist I thought that it might of been one of those CG characters but when I realized that this is Mugen from Samurai Shamploo, I was like no way. I could never do this so my hat goes off to you. Once again Amazing job!
