Working with FFXi scans is painful >_>; It's not like my usual stuff since this would be considerably hard for me to vector D: But for the new FFXi site we're making, I'm in charge of the graphics so here's one of the wallpapers. I used Cinema 4D to create the 3D render and photoshop 7 for the rest. Enjoy :)

Nice. I'm glad to post first on this, 'cause this is something special... most 3D walls either come out as sloppy, choppy, low quality, or all of the above. This is great! Can you add any more? We'd all be grateful...

Cold and realistic!! Effects on the spear(?) and the character's skin is awesome. They are incredible. Shining on the metal is very horrible. It express he is very dangerous existance. He is fatal warrior. What is he waiting for I wonder...

The quality of the character scan is very weak. It also appears that you didn't even attempt to think up a creative background. The shattering glass is good but doesn't really work that great. There is some much more that could have been done. I love this character though, and would like to see more walls with him, you get points for that.

Totally love the lighting effects, but as said, the background seems to be lacking.

I don't really think the 3D renders suit it that much. Maybe making it look more "crystalized" or glass looking would help it go with the Versus Xi story line. Maybe the scan could have been cleaned up better too.
However I'd have to say this is one wallpaper which can be improved further. :) Hope you can consider on working it further if you have the time? Also I guess this is one of the better walls with this character included and you get a + for that. Good try anyway.

Great effort in creating this wallpaper. Concept is good and placement of the character is good. The only thing is that it is a bit too dark. Might want to try putting in more light to pull out more details of the character...

I like the low light on the scan, but I don't really think the 3D renders go with the rest of the wall so well.
