I use a cloud brush once + two stock photos + rain bursh+make misty cloud..
Then I extract Archer,add some color for him(just a bit..like in Sin City I think)..then create the white glow to make him stand out a bit more...
That is for the Swordless ver...
The Swords ver..(or can be called UBW-Solitude ver) need more effort in extracting two different swords and then adjust them...make into a field of sword(just 6 swords there though >_>)

1.The Granyness is intentionally
2.Some said that I need to add something in the sky(black part)..but I think doing that will break the theme,so I didn't add anything else,sorry

4.Sorry if the rain looks somewhat strange..first time do rain
5.If you guys think that I should fix something,please drop a comment at my UP,I may make an update for that(If I can,that is).

This paper! The black and white works well for the solitude theme. I know you said that you didn't put anything in the sky because you think it will ruin the theme but if I were to give one suggestion, I think you should add a faded archer's flash back on that black blank space on top. It could be like showing one of those scenes where Saber walks away from Shiro or one of those Shiro/Archer flashbacks that shows when he was fighting berserker before using unlimited blade works. I think that would be able to add something without taking away from the solitude theme.
