As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. * My last submission before school begins...
Haha I've gotten into a long streak of not finishing anything! I left three unfinished wallies to start this. All the recent beautiful Chobits wallies got me in a CLAMP mood.

The title is from the manga; one of the lines from Chi's books.

I've always loved this scan and so I immediatly thought of it when I decided to vector a CLAMP scan. (The scan I ACTUALLY vectored was out of a gallery that no longer exists, so the link is to the same scan on MiniTokyo.)

(please do look at it since I could only include the top half in the wallpaper and I worked so hard on the whole thing!)
The Chi vector was 90% of the wallpaper and also my fav part. I always love doing intense hair. :3
The dress was a little tricky but still fun.
I decided to do more of a zoom-in to focus on Chi.

The sky is a heavily filtered stock with a gradient over it. (Stock from Deviantart)
I did want to add more to the sky than was in the original scan... which was just beige.

I love the look of billowing curtains though I fail at making them. The right side I copied from the scan but the left side was all from scratch... *shudder*
I kept transparency in places for the sheer curtain look.
One thing I kept in mind was an icon-friendly wallpaper (at least the large size!)

The final touch was just some glowey-spots to give it the dream-like feeling.

The signature is a tiny bit large because of recent concerns with wallpaper ripping, but I hope it's not too imposing.

I love constructive criticism as long as you're not MEAN to Doki! T-T
I actually do plan to make changes if some one gives good advice this time~

Great wallpaper!
I love the detailed vectoring, and the overall theme of the wall.
Only crit... it seems a little over-saturated, but nonetheless this is a wonderful piece.

I really don't know why,but this wall looks kinda strange to me...maybe it's the colors,dunno...and also,the colors of the shadings on her hair look kinda random,from light pink to dark purple,i think only shades of one color would look better...
The sig is too big,but it's ok since it's a ripping precaution...
Anyways,I know you put a lot of effort in this,but it's just not a lovable wall for me,sorry...but I think tons of other people will like it ^^

Her sweet dream is always filled with peaceful atmosphere in sweet colors in the wallpaper. Her dream is always waiting for someone for only her. Her pure face is really pure and empty. Dim focus and colors in the wallpaper are very graceful. They are drawing the veil make her be mysterious existance.

Looking at your full vector of the scan was amazing. Chi looks even more beautiful thanks to you. I liked how you set the scene in this wallpaper. Fits the mood well. The only constructive criticism I have would have is to have more purple or darker curtains. I like a little more contrast, but all of the colors are still pleasing as is! Oh, and as someone mentioned before, the sig on the bottom is a bit too large because it detracts from the wallpaper.

Oh, and who could ever think of being "mean" to Doki with that Ushio avatar. Ushio is way too cute! Send anyone who gives you trouble my way :P

YEAH! Perfect! Stunning background, stunning foreground, stunning character! This is 1000% hotness! Would be nice to see a smaller signature so it doesn't overlap the taskbar but it's a minor complaint.

The signature is really big, and while i dont mind if you want to use precautions against ripping, but its really not blended well and the font doesnt mesh well.
but i love the dark shadow colors--preserves the color scheme of the original. i think that you do need some more orange/red tones in the hair though.
and I will echo some of the concerns with the curtain being too dark
great job on creating bold pastel work though

I love it but there are flaws which are killing me T_T
like some color leaks on the window frames, maybe some outlines, even extra thin ones could make it even more prettier, especially on the hair and on the ribbons, i first thought the ribbon part was her hair. purple shadings on the hair doesn't have that much sense due to lightning effects.
overall this wall is really nice, but could have used more work,and that is restricting me from faving this T_T

When you view this one at full size there is that sharpness which makes it look fake (as supposed to, not hand-painted with a real paintbrush). Luckily, when I sheink it to fit my screen, the details get small enough for that not to be visible, although the curtains still look CG.
