I hope this makes up for some of my recent wallpapers which were of a lower standard. ^^;
I started this because Ayashi no Ceres does not get the attention it deserves; it's a beautiful, amazing series that needs more wallies. :3
I cannot even begin to say how long ago I started this... last Christmas I was maybe halfway through?... I'll leave it at that. My usual slowness was quadrupeled by the fact Paint Shop Pro does not work well after a few hundred layers. When it takes half an hour to place a single vector node work goes slow.
Now for the technical stuff.
The original-original scan I used is now gone as the gallery was deleted, but a (slightly different) copy is available in the AnimePaper gallery.

The entire wallpaper is a combination of vectoring and smudge-painting. It was my second time vectoring a manga scan, and my first doing something so insanely complicated. I just loved doing the hair, though. x3 Most of it was murder, though. The hardest part was sometimes I couldn't tell which part belonged to who...
I may have changed a few things here and there. >.< I originally was not going to do the pattern on the kimonos, but after almost finishing I realized it just didn't look right.
Finally, the title was a last-minute thing. I was astonished I had been working on this for so long and not given the title a thought. So I scrolled through my list of potential titles and came across "Mirror of the Heart", which is really the English title for a Spiral episode. I thought it fit perfectly as Aya and Ceres are one person. ^^;
