Been awhile since my last wallpaper but it's all due to mad studying for finals, which are finally over! This wallpaper has been sitting patiently on my hard drive for a long time as I get plowed over by school.
I always wanted to make a KHR wallpaper since I love this series but I couldn't really find a scan I wanted to work with.
Then I saw the cover page for CH104 and Gokudera seriously looked cool. So I tried very hard to coloured this b/w scan with my lack of artistic skills. This took almost 60 layers alone. His red shirt shadows took the longest because I just couldn’t get it to look right. I redid it countless times that I think my eyes started bleeding (just kidding but they were bloodshot). Overall, I'm happy with the way it turned out.
Then I redrew part of the scan and extended the railing, which turned into a bridge later on. I vectored-painted everything else. The water took some time to get the right effect. The clouds were from a random stock I found in my folder.
I was going to used sakura petals/leaves/flower petals but just to be a little different I used paper airplanes. Those who have read KHR will know the significant of the paper airplanes but I'll briefly explain for those who are not familiar with the series:
- Gokudera used paper airplanes for his training
- The seven rainbow coloured airplanes represents a different guardian of the Vongola (Mafia) Family ie. Gokudera is the Storm Guardian, represented by red.
On a side note: The indigo airplane took the longest! Ahh...the reflection in the water I mean since I couldn't find a suitable stock photo to look off of that I actually made a paper airplane and based it off that.
Here's a version without the paper airplanes:
1600x1200
1920x1200
The wide-screen personally looks better with the paper airplanes, and the 1600x1200 looks better without it.
Reaching about 200 layers, my computer almost crashed >_<
