The basic story of the wall goes like this: Rin (the main character of this anime)'s mom is dying because of cancer. She starts to make paper cranes, trying to reach 1000 so one of her wish can come true. But in the end, her mom dies while clutching a note that read 'Sorry'

I had a idea that her mom died because she was one crane short, so I made this wall showing the last crane. The stockphoto came from stock.xchng and the light is painted with default photoshop brushes. Stupid dodge tool made the light reddish p__p

The crane is really amazing, i don't like the light too much, but it's ok. And i think you could have make a differen think with the water waves.
Anyway, a cool idea, sad, but cool.

Heh. It's cool how you got the inspiration from an anime. The title itself got me curious about that. As far for the wallpaper itself, it looks good, and I like the lighting. The water feels a little out of place because I feel that the ripples lack the strength of your main object and light (maybe if you have made them thick, more 3D-ish?). In either case, there's not much to go off. It's good to see that you were simply able to create it after you got the idea.

Simple Concept in This Wallpaper is Well-Match for the PaperCrane.
Effects on the PaperCrane Provide Realistic Feelings to It.
Lights and Black Color in the Background Looks Like the Stage are Really Really Impressive.
They Improve Sorrow Feelings in the Episode.
Changing Tone of Colors in Different Side of the PaperCrane is Very Beautiful.
