This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
[color=blue] Certainly doesn't look like a first timer work man. Edward really blends well into the transmutation circle and the colours simply match beautifully. Fantastic! Good one man....

It Looks great, the scan is great, Edward look so cool on that pose, and the background with the transmutation circle looks so good with the contrast between black & blue, good work
I like it, its just like how the woman in the FMA movie makes those circles in the ship, its like hes pointing at something and a circle appears, i love the glowing circle, and the pose is ok, telling by his hair, the wind is blowing east, lol
I can't really comment on the technical aspects of the wall too much but I'll provide some hopefully helpful criticism.
What I like: I think that you picked a good scan that lends itself well to a wall, and the coloring and the lighting effects are done well. Also you said that you recreated the transmutation circle but had to modify it, well good job, it looks very faithful to the style and design that is used in the series. I also like the fact that there are some areas of block color, that seem to me like you are recognizing the fact that this will be on people's desktop, so there needs to be some space for icons that won't clutter up the wall or make it hard to find the icons. Maybe it was just a stylistic decision, but either way good job.
What I didn't like: The soft lines used for the lighting on the circle behind Ed are in too great of a contrast with the crisp lines used for Ed himself. The transparent circle overlapped over Ed helps to tie the two together a little bit, but it still feels a little bit like you made a Full Metal Alchemist background and you made Ed, and there isn't much to make them fit together with one another. I feel like there could be any other character instead of Ed and behind Ed there could be any other background behind Ed and it wouldn't be any worse than how it is now. Maybe having another thing in the wall that is defined with crisp lines would help, I guess I am not really sure myself how to remedy this. Another small thing I can comment on is that formally, it makes sense, but is not quite as interesting as if it could be if there was something else to balance out the weight of the subject a little. Or maybe he could be at a different angle that causes the viewers eye to flow back into the action. As it sits now, the directionality of the wall seems to be straight out Ed's pointing arm.
I want to state again, that I really like the wall and I am only offering the criticism because I appreciate when I get honest comments (that hopefully help in some way). Great coloring, lighting effects and creation of the transmutation circle. I look forward to seeing more of your walls in the future.
I love the blue glowing of the transmutation circle...so glad that you resubmitted it fixed instead of ditching it...
