One thing that always drives me crazy is that there are so many great shows with like... zero scans out there for them (and inversely you'll find an infinite number of magazine scans for some crap like 'They Are My Noble Masters'). So yeah, Zegapain is one of those great shows, and because of it I did something I really hate... I re-cged an entire scan. While it might look great, it's a complete pain in the ass to actually done.

Anyway, I went for a blend of techno and texture with this one, combining a lot of small items and effects into something that looked surprising good at the end of the day. The hardest part by far was the particle stream of 'data', that took me several tries to get right, especially around the parts of the character that are being 'filled in'. And yes, I did re-cg the parts that are now missing... covering them with a layer mask was a bit painful, emotionally and mentally after so much work...
