As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. OMG KIRA!

Last Bleach chapter was just too sexy to miss out on. Anyway, it's been a while since I've opened my PS and finished a wall, I hope this wall is still up to standards.

Basically going for the same ol' simple grunge thing, I might change it up in the future now that I have a mouse. Hell lot of masking and blending (well, not a LOT, but good enough), textures and brushes from deviantart.

Just moved in to my new dorm and still adjusting back to a regular sleep rhythm. I should have quite a bit of time on my hands, so expect more from me in the future! Sorry, no additional resolutions 'cause I'm too lazy. No site to check out my other works 'cause I'm homeless, so browse through my animepaper account.

The light parts of Kira clash too much with the background. Look at the hair - the sharp details stand out against the slightly blurred background texture. Did you try adding a faded texture over Kira? It might look OK as long as its not distracting. Otherwise, try a duplicated, minimally blurred character layer set to soft light and layer mask where necessary. The text is cool and so is that black splatter bar. When are we going to collaborate? We have similar styles, you know, I can see the end result being not too bad. If you have free time, which you said you did. College dorms? Fun stuff.

Background in the wallpaper is wonderful. Colors , arts and effects are incredible. They are harmonized with the Samurai with yellow hair.

I think this wallpaper is very grunge and I am loving the textures and background, you made a floral print look punk and that is very hard to do. I'm not a huge fan of Kira but you made him look sexy and hip, I think the white shadowing is unique and fits with the black brushes really well. Over all I think it looks great. B+ :)

I really like the textures and the grunge look of this wallpaper. I like the idea of adding floral designs, it makes him appear more approachable lol, and also the colors that are used is perfect.

I’m more of Byakuya Fan girl but seeing Kira like this is giving me new ideas lol. He looks rather dashingly handsome here and I think a lot of that has to do with how you’ve presented him. I really like that slight little abstract look around him and he himself is vectored quite nicely. Terrific job! Thank you for sharing such nice wallpaper.

yeah...

so anyways, the only thing i found off about the whole wall was the distracting white outline behind Kira and an almost grainy look to his face and body... other than that, looks like you can fix'er up and make her new, with a few touch ups.

Keep on wall'n though.

i believe kira didnt like fighting unless no other choice?
anyway yes, the white parts behind Kira do contrast a little too much with the image and background.. perhaps if this white cutout did not exist? =)
