Well, I'm going out town early tomorrow for the holiday weekend, so I figured I'd post this up before I left.
This wall really drove me crazy, mainly because it started as a grunge wall but clearly didn't end that way. I had an early version I was pretty happy with, but Kalico and nat told me I could do better, so I pretty much scrapped everything but the wall and lighting and started again. I decided to go with an indoor, office kind of feel, and built it up from there. Everything in the wall, the desk, the books, the shelves, and the pictures are individually textured and shaded (which took a real long time), and lighting effect takes up a couple layers sets by itself. All in all, I really wanted to do the wall once I saw the image in last month's Newtype, and I think it turned out pretty well (if you don't mind the slight spoilers). I just want to thank Kalico, tate, and nat for all their help on this one.
