Turned out more like a sanji wall than a one piece wall.
the angle was too cool for me to ignore. i *had* to wall it!
the artwork in One Piece seemed to depend so much on the lines, i really wasn't sure whether something like this was going to work or not. so did it? i think so...but well, you be the judge.
i've ommited a lot of things in order to keep it simple. the futher away the character, the less the details. but i guess i still put in too much in the case of luffy. i had to darken the sky to get the foreground to come forward. so it's no longer clear what time of day it's supposed to be. the original idea was to not use any textures and patterns, but the picture felt incomplete without them, so i added them too.
70 something layers. vectoring wasn't that hard, really. but adjusting the colours was absolute pain! colours ended up rather pale, but i guess it gives that 'dusty' sort of look, which i think is quite appropriate since they're in the desert. took a lot of time to make it desktop-friendly. every time i tried to upload it, i always felt like there was still some tweaking to be done. i went back to this wall almost 20 times, long after i'd originally considered it finished. if i were to let myself, i'd still be working on it. but you gotta stop somewhere, right?
and yeah the bottom right corner looks sort of empty. i was thinking of pasting something in that area, but you can just turn off auto-arrange on your desktop and put your recycle bin and other frequently used icons there.
sorry for the uncreative title. couldn't come up with anything good.
