When Lytton's quote these words; deathnote hasn't been published yet. lot of my time spend on extracting the scan and blending it with the background nothing much work done to this pieces just an arrangement and lighting.

Ryuk position on the fence is a symbolic - of between the world. enfer et ciel

I agree with a previous poster that Ryuk and the tree are way too far out of focus for this wallpaper to be enjoyable. It's like where's waldo at any sort of distance (I have PC connected to my TV through DVI, and even though the TV is 60 inches, it's nearly impossible to see Ryuk). Other than that, I do like the wallpaper. If I had to give some criticism, it would be that he looks extremely out of place in the..err...human world (a real photograph of the human world) and it might have been better if he were placed in a stock anime-style landscape. Either way, it's a pretty good wallpaper, keep up the good work!

The background so fits the theme of the manga and riuk. But, what is that big black blot center bottom? Also the smudging at the top interferes with the quality of the wall, mayber if you just kept the bar of solid black at the top. Great job on putting riuk in the photo, though, it almost looks real!

I like the vector (except for some details... I won't bother you with that for now!)! Actually the whole vectory style of the wallpaper is awesome ^^
I liked how you worked on the colors and how you managed to have such a nice composition. The brushes used are nice and their placement is nicely chosen (again except the heart and the crown for me)!
I liked the clean style of the background, and I just like L's expression ^^ He has his own little world and I like how you managed to picture him in this wallpaper!
Keep up the hard work!

Alright! This is a great wallpaper! Personally, I prefer a dark wallpaper for my computer, so this has great appeal. I especially enjoyed the dark, creepy details. It makes everything feel misty and spooky, like maybe there *could be* a real gateway between our world and the shinigami world. I would have liked to see a bit more of the blend between photography and the drawn character. Maybe some drawn clouds layered in with the photographed ones, or even some drawn details in the foreground. It would serve to tie the piece together. As it is, though, the joining of drawn and photographed elements is superb. And I love the tree. That is an awesome tree.

One word: dang! This picture REALLY captures the mood. Very well done. However, the figure in the middle doesn't quite fit. Can't really tell you what it is, but something about that figure seems off. It could be size, or location, or color, or lighting. I can't say for sure (it could be all of the above,) but something about it doesn't fit. The rest is beautiful. Keep up the good work.
