For The Script Refinery Competition #4. The theme is Movie (Poster/splash).
I only highlight on important part where the comp judges might find it amusing.
1. The Tsubasa Team stock is in good quality so I don't have much work with it. I feather the stock around 5px soft brush to make it blend safe. I'm going for smooth background and very attractive colors. I used blue midtone for the background and it does seem nice.
2.1 hours after working with this piece I had a shiny looking background with good shadow, a nice sturdy looking door, pair of dead tree, tiny dust particles & so (minimal). I need something that make it a bit meaningful and not to complicated for the extremist here (they are so many of them). I start off with drawing a pathline with the lasso tools and brush it with a jigsaw brush. I then set the jigsaw layer opacity down so it wont get too obvious. Next I do the clock/time on the jigsaw path just below sakura & Syaoran feet. Now the pictures got even more sense like they were on time traveling quest solving mystery. sort of.
3. If you look at The Tsubasa Team's they all look a bit stern serious but not fay's, he was smiling, its pretty much hurts the overall moods so I get a small black brush and do some make-up on syoran's' face. My ideas is so fay's have a good reason to smile and syoran himself look exhausted from his dreaded journey. make sense?
4. finally i complete the text and logo. I found (mog) the Tsubasa logo from arika.co.jp its in good quality but the colors is pink. I used a hue and photo mask to get the right blending colors.
