I can't help but love the artwork for Claymore, the more I read it the more I really begin to dig the amazing amount of detail that goes into every panel. It's really mindblowing how much work goes into each page...
Anyway, I found this really incredible scan of the first volume cover of Claymore here on AP, and inspiration hit me right away. I went for a pure scenic look for this one, with Claire entering some sunset drenched ruins in order to exterminate some evil. The hardest part was getting the depth right on everything, particularly the pillar in the foreground and the archway in the distance. The color scheme was surprisingly easy, especially considering it turned out to be the primary feature for the wall.
Big thanks to Kalico for all her help on this one!
