I re-did this wall so many times. Thanks for all that commented.

I chose a blue color to match Roy's personality (blue for outwardly calm and stoic, but pensive and lamenting on the inside). I wanted a grungy or abstract feel, so I played around with some arrows and swirls. I also wanted to reflect Roy's "attachment" to the military, hence the rising sun rays.

I kept shades of blue and white to hopefully match Roy and capture a mood for the wall.

Hope you all like it.

Congratulations to your first wallpapaer, as you see, hard efforts always pay up. You did a good job on the color matching (blue was the only right choice) and the character looks clean.
What could be better: First, the resolution. 1440x900 is really the minimal here, at least 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 for optimal. Sure when the character is not vectored, it's hard to resize without loss of quality, but you know, bigger is (always) better XD
Also this abstract style should be match more to a happy chibi style and the Colonel looks very serious in this(or morally bankrupted :P)
But still...for a first try is more than good and you wil be better and better with every wallpaper. I'm sure of that and waiting for your next work.

I like this! The colors and the male signs in the back looks pretty cool to me. I like how its much different than many wallpapers I have seen today. Good work.

Love the wall, but I haven't even thought about FullMetal Alchemist for a while. You did get a good feel for Roy's personality, that's for sure. I especially like the tagline (would you call it a tagline?) - morally bankrupt, with a god complex. Very original! +Fav

Actually, DeathKnight, the "tag-line was said by Edward in the anime (I believe), though I forget which episode. The line may have also appeared in the manga...but I think it was an anime orginal.
I loved Ed's image/perception of Roy, and in part I used the "tagline" as a joke, since, again, Roy only uses that outward perception of himself as a front. The real Roy is much more sophisticated and philosophical.
