This was made entirely in Photoshop, using images from chapters 47 and 50 of the Nabari no Ou manga. I worked on the main image on and off for what must have been weeks, but the hardest part for me was the background. I didn't want to over-crowd it with images or anything, but it also looked horribly blank with nothing but the blue. After a lot of tweaking (I redrew a portion of the train, because the original scan spanned two pages and was split in the middle from being scanned straight from the book) I combined the two images for the background.


After reading chapter 50 of the manga, I was feeling stunned - both happy and absolutely crushed, and I hope I was able to do justice to the bittersweet beauty of the author's artwork.
