Hi, this is my second attempt at submission...

I know the resolution is a bit small. This is an old wall of mine, and I started small (but trying to make the resolution of new walls bigger!).

I tried to recreate the sketchy effect but my vector skills are just not there yet, so I did a "gaussian-darken" effect which I learnt a long time ago. I felt that it suited this wall too...and then I added in textures from stock.xchg here.

Made the colours more saturated and omitted the title. I felt that the effect I wanted to achieve was better done with unsaturated colours, and I really liked the unsaturated effect, but well... Removed the dotted moths and added more moths at the side.

Also I liked the colour scheme of the original so I kept it. The idea of giving him a hair dye just doesn't go well with me. And I would like to keep the bg blank because I also think it suits the wall better...I THINK...(ok more like I'm just terrible at backgrounds...)

OKAY first many thanks to everyone who gave feedback, I appreciate it very much. As you can see I tried to change as much as I could. The things I didn't change were:
1) Moth colour. Because the title is "Black Moth", and because I have no sense of colour. Believe me.
2) I kept some of the moths.........(too attached to them to remove them)....
3) I don't really know how to make the moths look less static...so I did just a bit of warping to them....
4) No offence to sakurab, I made his eye red (not blue) because that's the character's real eye colour. This is really my first time drawing in an anime eye so feel free to flame it to death.
Then I thought, why not put something funky around the text? And all of a sudden the plant came, and it took me one whole night to do it, and now I'm thinking, it's kinda disastrous......so someone HELP! I have no idea how to salvage it, and since I put so much time into it already, I'm reluctant to get rid of it (but if I really really have to, I will...with tears in my eyes....)

HEY WAIT it got accepted? OK great! This wall was taking up too much of my time...now I can finally advance with my life T_T
