My life has gone topsy-turvy as of late what with a recent stay in the hospital, adjusting to new medication, finals, psych testing, and to top it all off my insomnia is kicking back in. I've been pretty good about it because this is all the junk you have to go through in order to get to the bottom of everything and start the recovery process and, honestly, I'm up to the challenge. What was truly unexpected though was how all of this craziness got me back into walling; it seems that while my head is too jumbled to write at the moment making walls is quite calming.
I've been working on this wall on and off for the past year and a half now; seriously this thing was in limbo for so long I thought it would never see completion. The original design has hardly changed since my original vision though my vectoring the original scans of the three creatures to be redundant I felt it necessary to make them fit with the wall's overall style. Plus it was excellent practice for my still-developing watercolor technique!
Those of you who remember my first Okami wall back in '06 may recall how I said I'd never played the game before, well here I am two and a half years later and I still haven't played it. I feel kind of ashamed...
The wall is named after the song "Last of the Wilds" by Nightwish which I always envisioned playing in the background while I was looking at this image.
