As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Ye mouton knows all ;) I am still a newbie with vectoring programs. In my journal is the progess so far for my Inkscape and AI project. The main difference I noticed so far is that in AI the pentool is editable at all times, in IS it is a different tool

I created this wall with Photoshop Suite CS2, with the Haruhi extraction made by Frail Frivolity. This took quite a long time to do--there's at least fifty stars in here. Finally done.

Some users have questions about the yellow-ish spot on Haruhi's stomach...that came with the original extraction. Its probably because the original image had a different background with spotlights or something like that...I dont think I can edit it since its already submitted -_-

Oh yes there is well over 50 stars in this wallpaper, I tried to count them but I think I keep on counting the same ones so I stoped half way through.

But I love the colors in the wallpaper, warm colors are my favorite colors. Haruhi's shadow looks really color, the effects on it are incredible.

I really love the really large star in the upper left hand corner, with the stars cut out in it, very unique and awsome design.

Finally you chose a great piocture of Haruhi, I totally love that outfit. Very beautiful wallpaper thank you for sharing.

These flaws really looks weird...

Apart from that you did great job. The composition of colours, atmosphere and added elements (like Haruhis colourful shadow for example) is quite excellent.

Why are her upper stomach and armpit a lemony yellow? If yer trying to pull off a "psychadelic" effect, or the impression of a spotlight, I think some defined color segregation would help out better than the faded transition you've got going on now, which makes it look more like she's got jaundice. Alternatively, keep the fade, but show a backround that reflects the colors also; a lit environment can help to put a subject into the correct context.

This is a nice and simple wall.
I don't mean that as in designing it, no... I understand how long editing that many small images is... and how frustrating. In my opinion... and I've said it before... there is a specific style that makes a wallpaper a wallpaper. A simple yet entertaining image that you wouldn't mind keeping as your computer backdrop for a month or two. Some images are too busy or have the wrong color or wrong graphics in the wrong places. Thus making it nice art... but annoying as a computer backdrop. This is a wallpaper... not very arty... but something that works for your backdrop.

And I do believe that animepaper is looking for wallpapers anyways... at least that's my take on it. It is called "anime-paper" after all. No offense to the artists out there, it's open to all... but I think that was their original intent.

Excellent work. And sorry for my ever long and dull lectures. I hate talking to people in person... but I love analyzing and giving my (professional, ha-ha) opinion.

Waaaaa, that's just suitable for the series! The brightness of colors, cheerfulness of Haruhi ^.^

I loved that moment when she performed on stage, and the way she sang (her seiyuu has a really "powerful" voice). Too bad she was in a bunny costume XD I haven't seen this one before))
