The amount of patience, hard work and an eye for quality is what defines this wallpaper. Character is painstakingly vectored off a real life toy image with references to screenshots. Despite the difficulty level, ~pvc24 still manages to nicely depict the image in anime fashion and yet able to find the mental strength to come up with a background composition that is both aptly fun and pleasant in atmosphere.

*** An entry for the AP Battlegrounds EVI v. Dafeiji - Noir collab challenge ***

Collab team: elfe-noire43, Jack, supermonchi

In this challenge, our task was to portray Mireille using a timekeeping device.
While the sundial idea was pretty straightforward, deciding on a background concept and choosing a Mireille scan wasn't quite that straightforward in a 3-people collabs environment - but we made it!

It all begun with this concept - LOL! XD
The ruin settings, sky, sundial and everything else present here were drawn manually from scratch through a massively laborious effort and plenty of midnight oil.
Practically no scan or stock photos used, other than for Mireille vectoring, misc tracings and stone texturing.

I haven't watched this series but elfe-noire43 has, and she added a nice touch of story truthfulness by putting Mireille's shadow on the Virgo symbol because it means maiden and Noir is about the "maidens who governs death". She also changed the sundial symbols (cardinals points ) from their usual position to fit with the sun position.

All credit to Jack for the vector and the modifications made on the original Mireille scan to fit with the scene esp the lighting.

So nice, A Mireille-only wall :D
I like these twilight colours very much, and the background somehow reminds me of the Manor.
But indeed, the character isn't appropriate done, it doesn't fit in the background. I guess you should have tried to make a connection -by mean of colours or effects- between Mireille's silhouette and the background.

Beautiful wallpaper. It is a very good "concept" as someone else already said. I like how it seem to have kind of a quiet, lonely feel to it. The only things that bothered me were: the wall doesn't seem as detailed/textured as the rest of the wallpaper; Merielle doesn't blend very well with the background; and the thing that bothered me most was I don't think her eyes should be quite that wide open if she was facing the light like that.
Other than that it was an excellent wallpaper. Good job. XD

I think it looks really nice.. i really like the background.. it looks really awesome.. but i think the doesnt blend really well with the background.. it needs to be blended a lil bit more with the background.. but overall.. its a great wallpaper! great job!.. tahnks for sharing this wallpaper! ^____________^
I like the background, but I dislike the figure herself. It's the placement of her head and her eyes that give her an extrememly wooden doll like feel to it. For me, it ruins the picture. If you could find a better picture of her with a more expressive look then it would improve the picture greatly for me. Not really your fault, I suppose, just the picutre you chose to use. Awesome wallpaper, the effect of the sunlight is amazing. Great background.

I love the bg... it almost looks realistic. Especially the ruins and the floor.
The chara is blended with the bg very well, and the vector looks great.
I like the clouds and the color scheme too. :)

I really love the concept of this. The colour scheme and the sky are really nice and I really love the way it's lit. The vector does look a little out of place compared to the rest of the wall, but overall, I think this is a good wall. Well done.

LThis is one awesome wall. The only thing that bothers me is Mirielle there. She doesn't seem to fit in the scenery to well. The eyes and her head seems way off. Mirielle there ruins the perfectly wonderful background. But I gotta hand it to you, the concept is way cool and I love the sunset thing. The effects are also good. Great job.

This is a very original and creative concept. I especially like the choice of the location (Manor ruins), and the motifs you used -- the Sun and the sun dial, both of which have connections or allusions to the actual story in Noir. Putting Mireille's shadow on Virgo is a clever touch as well.

I think it is especially awesome that your team created just about everything from scratch. Wow.

On the minus side, I agree with others regarding the text and Mireille herself. I'm not fond of texts in wallpapers either -- shouldn't the picture conveys everything that needs to be said? Besides, if Mireille is indeed "waiting for the Sun" then how come she isn't facing it directly? :)

As for Mireille herself. Her expression would be better if it is softer. As it stands I can see why some would consider her "wooden" looking or even outright stoned. For me, I find the unnatural brightness on her person much more noticeable and disruptive to the overall visual harmony. With the Sun where it is, I expect to see more shadows on this side of Mireille and a darker, non-glossy tone. Right now she stands out too much and looks just pasted on.

Nevertheless, this is still one of the best Noir wallpapers I've seen. Naming it my fav. :)
