This is my first wallpaper submission. It's Belldandy, from an old image I picked up off the net a couple of years back, and the text is the song that she sings from the
movie.
hmm, I know I said in sessionzero that the program I used was photoshop, but I made a mistake there. I did it on adobe photodeluxe. It doesn't give as many options with effects and stuff as photoshop, but I'm more familiar with it.
I think I made at least four different versions of this paper before I finally settled on this one. The others were a little too monochromatic, all red and yellow, and kind of glaring, so I made a negative-colored layer and overlayed it on the right side of the paper. I liked the way it toned down the right side and gave some of it, especially the middle part, a greenish kind of cast, like oxidixed copper. Also, I like the way it cuts the paper into two sections.
The wing design was a lucky accident - It's actually the outline of top half of belldandy's wing from the picture. I did some random clicking with my color select tool, and the pattern just came out by itself. When I saw it, I thought - Hey, that's nice. I can use that. And use it I did.
I like to think of the paper as pseudo-Romanesque. Pseudo, since well, you don't get farther from ancient Rome than modern Japan. Some people on the forums made suggestions about the font, and I am happy they took the time to respond to my request for comments. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to fix it right now, with all the stuff I have to do for school and work. I'm really sorry about that. I just wanted to give this in now, since I've been in the community for a week or so, but haven't contributed anything as yet. So here it is.
