Welcome to the 16:9 Support Action Group! This group is here to promote the support for HD resolution wallpapers on AP.
What is 16:9?
16:9 is the aspect ratio most commonly used in widescreen televisions. This differs from the widescreen standard for PC monitors, which is 16:10. However, since the introduction of High Definition, Full HD supporting PC monitors are getting more popular. At the same time, more and more people are using media-center PC's, which are hooked up to a TV and are used to watch (downloaded) movies, etc. In conclusion, the amount of people using 16:9 is growing rapidly.
Resolutions fitting the 16:9 standard:
1280x720 (720p)
1920x1080 (1080p)
3840×2160 (QFHD)
16:9 on Animepaper
AP allows users to upload wallpapers in most of the above resolutions, although this isn't mentioned in the FAQ. Unfortunately, automatic downscaling doesn't seem to work properly.
