Get ready, Get set ...Shinkai Brilliances' First Wallpaper Contest!
If you do choose to use another scan from a diffrent category, it still needs to be incorporated with shinkai's movies. So NO! we are not making any bleach wallpapers with trains, telephone poles and clouds. lol. You can use a train scan that you like, or a city scan from another anime. Just as long as you incorporate it with the Shinkai style and keep it in a category made by shinkai (VOIDS, TPPIOD, 5cm etc.)

Yep I have to agree with you slaka, because I\'m afraid if we would allow... well let\'s say Bleach scans, that the Shinkai feeling would be pushed aside and hard to see. And that isn\'t what we are trying to achieve with this contest...
But damn it\'s hard to make a real Shinkai wallpaper. Most of the ideas I come up with aren\'t Shinkai-isch enough and the other ideas aren\'t feasible with my Photoshop skillz0rs xD
This contest does raise my level of respect for Shinkai, because now I realise even more how great of an artist he really is!
And HELL NOT that I\'m giving up on this contest!

I\\\'m new to Shinkai\\\'s work, just happens that the scan I found this morning was tagged Misc: Makoto Shinkai(The Place Promised in Our Early Days), and the artstyle is definitely interesting.
It was an album cover (square). So if I just repaint the edges of the scan and add another character, is it still OK?

I don't know if I can finish the wallpaper in time if I join this contest. Painted wallpaper with a mouse is kinda hard.

`Shig, what you explained to me seems pretty close. I would perfer that you use more than one scan if you are choosing to use mostly scans. Just PM me with a link of your wall :).
`Yume-chan, it dosent NEED to be painted that would be awesome and you definatly could do it but just keep in mind that you can use multiple scans and add in your own artwork as well.
Sorry for the hard contest guys :( If the time comes we I am always glad to give an extension but I'd rather see you get it done on time :). I know that painted walls can be done with a mouse...-_-...unfortunatly I know first hadn XD.

Well... to tell you the truth... I didn't even started yet... 
I have some ideas now, but I didn't really made time for it to actually put the idea in action. I am really planning on making the wall, but things just keep getting in the way (I think the teachers know about this contest, because everytime I want to work on it, they pile a bunch of homework on my desk or keep bugging me with paper deadlines!)
But anyway, I'm off to bed now ( I competed with 3 other guys in a marathon today, so I'm dead tired)
But the good news is that I have 4 free days now!! (And you know what my plans are going to be ;)

I might not make the deadline after all since I am working on two other walls this week... trying to beat the deadline for Vectorness and another group... plus my connection has slowed down, delaying my download of the movie I should

Aaah!! Taihen Taihen!!
I just started a few days ago... but my computer crashed yesterday... well I was installing 1gig extra ram in my computer. And after that my dad cleaned the whole thing on the inside, cause damn it was dirty... But after I had put everything all together, he couldn't boot anymore. So we brought it to the shop and they told us that the motherboard is broken.
And now I lost my work... my scans and I have to install fotoshop on an other computer we have here. And the deadline is tomorow...

Finished loading the movie, hit play and what the heeck?!- no subs. I have to look around for another scan of the character, but at least I know what she looks like now -_-'
