What is The Philosopher's Realm?

As stated in the 'About' section of the group's index, this group was created to unite the potential brains around AP. This, of course, makes this a special group.
A group that deals with what others normally and naturally don't.

What do we do here?

Hold discussions, debate, engage in intellectual whatnot stories, poems, etc.
However, we can also converse on unrelated subjects, if one of the members finds the subject to be appealing, then other's might too, and thus would provoke to some extent a level of discussion worth mentioning.

What is to be expected of everyone?

For one, I hope that this could be an active group. Compared to others who're over a year old and the last discussion took place approx. 8 months ago, I hope that there could be a discussion everyday, regardless of the amount of replies, although the more the merrier . Therefore, be sure to be active a lot and reply when you can.
Next is: respect. Be sure to respect others and their opinions...
Common sense and the usage of logic. I don't think that there's any need to elaborate on this point.

P.S. Currently the administrators are Kibas and Myself, of course. There are no moderators at the moment, seeing as how they're not needed, and there are no applicators. Although, as the group expands more people will be assigned for the job... It's all about the impression you make .

What kind of posts and topics we can and can't post here in The Realm?

Basically, this is a group for intellectual discussions, which means that no redundant topics like 'What's your favorite type of ice cream?' unless it has some basis to it like, an elaborated detailed explanation on the benefits of ice cream on humanity or whatnot. Threads like 'What's your favorite Shakespearean play?' are accepted, if, again, they have basis to them like, 'And why?', just make sure you use common sense.
Keep in mind that the rules of AP apply to us as well. We're part of AP and are not an exception. So if there's a topic that's not allowed based on the site's rules be sure to either not post it or tweak well enough for it to be accepted.
'What's your favorite chapter of your favorite book?' is another one such topic which I like, for example, my favorite is The Count of Monte Cristo (Le Comte do Monte Cristo) chapter XV Number 34 and Number 27. And here is where I give an explanation why, like 'the magical moment when (spoiler!) Edmond had the wondrous interaction with The Abbe, for it was like a reunion between a father and a son who never saw each other, and found one another by such a moment!', intriguing, for I could go on and on, but I'm running short on time, so I must make haste, my carriage awaits.

OK... I'm still kind of touched (mentally) by the whole Ordeal of Lust that I was compelled to undertake at that damn Sushi Bar... FUCK! Ahem, right. Back to work it is...

So, where was I... (Taking time to think) Ah, yes, after the whole magical moment part.
I highly advocate the usage of personal experience to tell us of your ailments, mental ailments. Like you had a cousin die and you could tell us about the funeral or how he or she...or it died, it'll generate a relatively high amount of posts and provoke at least a dozen of peers.

What can I do to help The Realm?

One good thing you could do is to encourage those who are unaware of this group's existence to join us. But remember, use practical judgment; if you see that the guy can't even spell the word I, which is in fact impossible, then obviously he's not fit. Make sure he's got a high IQ...
Another way is by being active. In other words, make sure that you post and create topics like a madman for our group to expand and lull more people into our domain.

That is all for now.

For the next 4-5 maybe even 6 months I will not be here and there's no point in trying to grab my attention. If you'll need me urgently either request Kibas' or Foo-chan's (Kartarae) means of getting in touch with me. But then again I'm pretty sure I won't be needed.

Regardless, in the meantime Foo's in charge, Kibas's word priority is, currently as it is, lower than that of Foo's. Make good use of it. But keep in mind that both of them are in administrative status possession. Any requests that require an administrator's approval go to either of the two.

Kibas is a freelancer.
Foo is an elderly old man trapped in a 14 year old boy's body.

Out of all the people that applied to our group since its foundation, I rejected very few of them. Seriously, too little. As of now, I'm going to drastically increase my standards. Before, I just wanted for our group to gain fame and popularity. Honestly with my expectation, I want to see an average of 3 new posts every 20-30 minutes. Heck, the more the better. Sadly, however, I believe we can all agree on this as nothing but a cute dream of an under-aged perverted asshole. Or at least for now.
Regardless, anyone who's constantly active enters my good list, so lucky for you I'll actually remember your name, something I refuse to do with those do not deserve of this honor.

Also, I want to add more moderators, but seeing as there aren't all that many posts daily, only 1 is sufficient. So if people will be more active I'll assign more moderators.

Most of those who are on the to-be-exiled list do not take the group seriously.
I understand the reason for a few of those people's inactivity, but it's more than just that. What's the point of them being here of they're never going to post?

Bear in mind that I may have made a few mistakes, so correct me if you think that I was wrong in judging your stay here.

People, I hereby declare my departure. I am leaving AP. Hopefully forever.

Point of this post is, the spot for the new administrator is open.

My initial and first candidate was Foo-chan, but he's leaving ... that and during my search for the next administrator the fact that he's a theophile completely slipped my mind. So currently my next 2 candidates for administrative status are Omni and Loud. Therefore, Omni and Loud, do tell me if you're interested. However, just because they're the people I believe are best suited for the job, doesn't mean that the rest aren't. If you want the job do tell me.

Although, bear in mind that you must meet the following criteria first:

1. You must be active.
2. You must be an atheist. (Yes, I'm an asshole)
3. You must not be on my naughty list. (Yes, I do actually keep a list...in mind mind. But it's there, nonetheless.)

(I could change some of the criteria points, so be warned.)

Okay guys, as the newly appointed administrator of this group, I'm hoping to make some changes around here with the approval of Agon. (I will be contacting him once in a while for him to verify and to approve of my decisions.)

You can be sure that I will be monitoring this group on a regular basis, and I will come up with certain requirements for members who wish to remain part of the group. As is Agon's original intention, I will also be raising standards. If I find a member posting without thinking out his/her response thoroughly on a topic, said person will be under my so called 'watch list'. You will be listed if:

1. You spam a lot.
2. You create topics that don't fit the criteria of philosophy.
3. You post senseless information.
4. Your post does not relate to the topic you have posted in.
5. You offend the other participating members.
6. You have been inactive for 3 weeks in the group.
7. You don't follow AP regulations.

Anybody remaining on my watch list for an extended period of time is in danger of being booted out of the group. You will recieve a PM from me if you have been added to the list along with a warning. I am a nice person, so I'll consider your reasons first before I boot you, however, if your reasons are not valid, and you have been inactive for over 3 months, you WILL be removed from the group. I'll add more to this post soon, so members, be sure to check back often.
