NFS: Pro Street
It's very likely the game will be called Pro Street, as that trailer showed the letters PS on some balloons (sharp eye, Firestorm!). And yes, I think EA will just publish much info about the game at the end of this week.
And I already posted what I think it's all about:
- circuit racing a la GT
- damage system a la Burnout
- tuning options a la previous Need for Speed games
The only big question for me is how the storyline is going to work out... If focussed on circuit racing, I don't want any DTM Race Driver 2 shit really.

For some reason I feel like EA decides to continue the storyline from Most Wanted and Carbon in this new upcoming NFS (in other words...you're driving around in a BMW M3 GTR, you loose the car once again, you have to start all over again and race your way to the top), although I really hope they will come with something more original.

Yeah... me too! I fear for the same thing! I really hope this NFS game is like... groundbreaking or something. Otherwise people might lose a lot of interest in the legendary NFS series... :(
The 'Electronic Arts' banner and logo helped Carbon gain as much fame etc as it got. But i don't think that the same trick can be done twice.

Here's another question. Do you think EA should release another limited edition (just like Most Wanted Black Edition and Carbon Collector's Edition) of their new upcoming Need for Speed?
Personally I think it's more a marketing stunt from EA, they just release a limited edition because they know people will buy that for sure (and I have to admit I did fall for that trick as well, both with Most Wanted and Carbon). In other words, it's a smart trick to boost their sales even more. Personally I don't think it's necessary, because in Carbon Collector's Edition for PS2 most 'exclusive' stuff (like the Pagani Zonda F, 2007 Ford Mustang GT500, etc.) wasn't even available. Well, it depends really. On what the Limited Edition would contain. Since people have already gotten the experience of it and how EA manages to use it as a marketing strategy (As you say). Now if they make a special edition pack, they'll need to really really have some loads of gold in it. Something not available for the 'regular' gamers... >_>

Because EA is a console bitch. Special editions came to the PC lots later as far as I know and I just expect no goodies for PC games from EA at all this time.
OK. Can i kill the timer now? Because it's really annoying. I checked in the morning and it said '00:15:22:XX'. Which means 15 hrs left... and i was like... "OMFG!! THAT IS SO FRIGGIN AWESOME!!" And then... i checked back again in the afternoon and it was 10 hrs or something. And again, i was extremely freakin out.
BUT! I just checked back now and it's showing '01:09:35:XX'. Which means 1 day and 9 hrs left... ¬_¬

It's already May 31 at my place and the timer itself says 00:00:00:00, but so far there are only 11 screenshots and that's it. I guess they will update it in the morning...

First reaction: eh.. this is it? EA actually made a countdown timer (that didn't even work) for this day and all they do is release a short story of what the game is like, which is pretty much what people thought, plus a couple of screenshots of which half is taken from the trailer. But hey, it's always nice to see a confirmation of all our ideas.
Anyway, now we know that the game is still about street racing and not on circuit, as the trailer did show a bit. Based on trailer and screenshots, I think it'll be like Underground 2: Drag races, normal races, hopefully drift and possibly URL (on circuit).
Now the most interesting I think of all the stuff EA released, is this screenshot:
Why? BECAUSE OF THE CARS! Aren't we all especially interested which cars are in it? Well I was very happy when I saw this shot, because from right to left you can see:
-An RX-7, already featured in the trailer and it'd be more surprising if it wasn't included in this game.
-A Hemi Cuda (you're right, JA), for the healthy amount of American muscle.
-I believe that's an Eclipse there.
-Hell yes: an AE86. Inspired by Initial D, no doubt, but I'm very happy to see it back in the NfS series. I do hope they don't label it as Corolla GT-S like in Underground 2 <_<.
