Hi, I know there are a lot of these postys up here but they are all I can use at the moment. I can't post in the regular posting area. So, bare with me.
I just wanted to know if anyone likes to make AMV's [Anime Music Video's]? Because I want to make a contest for you who want to make AMV's or do make AMV's. So, I thought I'd test the waters before I posted anything.

Well, I'll posty and put this to the top and see if any of you will reply to it now. *^^*heh.. If there are some AMV'er's out there. Then please tell me. I'm one too... So, if there are a few of you that already know how to AMV or want to learn. Please, tell me. Its not hard to make an AMV just a bit time consuming if you let it. But I really want to make a contest for all you AMV'er's. You just have to let me know.

I make AMVs but its like once in a blue moon =P I'd like to have an AMV contest cause its kinda hard to compete in wallpaper contests these days -.- lol anyways heres my latest AMV. Made it from windows film maker so yeah..

Sweet.. I liked it. I'll watch it again to see it really streamed line later. But its good.. really good. And you did that with the WMM. That's cool.. I don't make AMV's often myself but I do have a few in progress and finished yet.. only one uploaded. Get things started. Just pick out a few song's.. and have a short vote with the members still around and then we can get started. Hows that sound?

Sounds great! I was thinking about submitting a few AMVs to Anime North this year. But for this contest dont we need like a theme or specific genre of music? of just overall presentation? And before we start anything I need to check if my WMM is still working, I haven't touched it in a long time ^^; How about we start it after the wallpaper contest is over?

*^^*heh... Well, the wallpaper contest will probably be a little while since I have a few late comers to the contest. But I'll pick the date soon... but it might not be a bad idea to choose now on what song probably... something from a christian band... whats your fav? Personally, I'm more of a TFK'er... but I do like slower stuff.. So, fast or slow??... Maybe, we can find someone else who wants to be in the contest as well. I'll have to see if my 2nd exteral drive is truly dead or not... it doesn't like to fall.. the last one didn't either. Go, figure.

Well.. I don't know many christian bands but thats still debatable. So the pace of the song can really depend on the AMV the person is making so I think we can either make it their choice or choose slow or fast. And people should be able to choose theyre own anime. Deadline like I said should be after the wallpaper contest cause some people might want to participate in both AMV and wallpaper contests and can't exactly juggle making an AMV, a wall, and homework cause they all take significant time and effort.
As for my AMVs, I can only find fan-subs so I usually make it from them. And when I do the text usually matches the AMV well so it doesn't matter for me.
So anyway before we can get this underway, we gotta spread the word to members and AMV makers.

Well, I think the time limit will be choosen by the song. So, I think we should choose a christian song and use that. Just need to find a few we like.. about 3 or 4 to choose from.

So, once we make a final decision... I'll make up a thing and send out a notice... no deadline or anything just to get it out because a lot of memebers haven't been here for a while but might come back and see it... You know.
But for christian's band's just check out the "What's your fav. christian band" or something like that... its got all the band's everyone listen's to in it. See if you find a band you like... Then we'll pick out a couple and leave it to the rest.

Yeah you can PM all the other members.. and as far as the songs go.. why not decide whether its fast paced or slow, then pick out a few bands and list the songs within that criteria. That way it'll be far easier for members unfamiliar to these bands and also saving them the trouble of picking out the 'perfect song'.
Btw.. would you consider Elfen Lied's OP to be 'christian' or atleast have that religious tone?

Well, Elfen Lied's OP isn't even in english... but I'd rather this be truly christian based. I mean if you want to make AMV's and show them off or be in other contests... there's AMV Alliance... I'm in. There new to AP but pretty good... got sites to get downloads from and what not... But for this contest.. I have to say stay with Christian Band's. But we probably should choose fast or slow... If you wont since you don't seem to be familiar with the band's. How about you pick the Fast or the Slow.. and I'll make the list for everyone to choose from. Or I could pick a few and let you choose a couple. I mean whatever is easy and fair.
But good thinking on the pick a few and let them choose. As long as there all the same pace.. what should be the real diff. The time is determended by the song plus give a bit of variety when judging. So, I like that.

I guess we should go with fast-paced cause its usually easier on people to match the beat. So you can go ahead and make a list for people to choose from. That way its all in the same category and same list of music, therefore making it easier for both contestants and judges. Then later on we can switch back and forth between fast and slow or mix it up a bit along the way.
