2009 Visual Purchase Thread 01
I've been buying more non-commercial (doujinshi) stuff these last couple of months, so I put a bit of a hold on the commercial releases. All things considered, there weren't really that many these last couple of months, but there's going to be tons over the next two months ~_~
So this is the commercial stuff I bought during January and February. Some older used books, but mostly new magazines.
Tales of Magazines are mostly manga now. There used to be more illustrations, which was why I picked up these two. Gelatin is a new Robot-like book with a variety of artist's doing full color comics. Any questions about the others, just post :D

I took pictures of a few of the books today! I've got Atsuko Nakajima's Kirara, Fumitake Moekibara's Lyrical and Galaxy Angel Kanan i.
Here's the three of them:
And I've included the insides under the spoiler cut. But I accidentally deleted the Fumitake ones, so I'll do that again later.
The Galaxy Angels ones is really just more of the same. I'm starting to think the images are getting repeated ;D Actually, some were from the previous Kanan books and labeled as such XD The Atsuko Nakajima one is good, but too many small images of DVD covers. I mean, why not just give them a full page? And the Fumitake one is nice, but I'll talk about it when I've got pictures to accompany it ;D

Nice~ I totally forgot about Atsuko Nakajima's book >_< I'll need to throw it into my order (which is already sky high) if I can. Can't miss out on Trinity Blood goodness XD

Great quality, large full page images and likely everything you could ever want to see from the series.
Reighborhood:
All are illustrations from a hobby magazine that features girls with guns. They're all well drawn but as you can see above there are several pages that repeat the same images in very slightly different colors. A lot of images unnecessarily spill over two pages when they could easily fit on one, if not for the text explanations about the weapons.

Oh, Lyrical looks nice too. How many pages is it? Full color?
Lyrical is nice, it feels short though. Oh wait, that's because it is XD It's 96 pages, and not all of those are illustrations and some are two page spreads. The art work in general is really colorful and pretty, so though it's not as much as some other books it's good for what it is.
Damn I gotta get me that Tony's Artwork book!!
Lol, of all people Htiarw, I thought you would have known about that book. I was even going to PM you about it, but figured, nah you're on top of the Shining Wind/Tears stuff :3
I've been lost for a while. I couldn't get online, lost all my websites and passwords. I'm slowly building it back up and when I got to the online stores I had missed that one. It's too bad my usual haunts have been sold out on it. Had some nasty stuff going on here but I'm hoping it'll settle out before summer. I have to get back into the hunt.
Yeah, that book is seriously gorgeous, Htiarw~ It's the best purchase I've made (I think). It is super awesome for 3000 yen. Lemme go take some pics of the things that made it today :3
