Ok everyone, the 'transition' has been made and i'll be taking over the battleground for gid (i'll put the announcement on the front page shortly). you guys can now start challenging again. things have been alittle slow lately but hopefully that can all change now. all the armies should be discussing strategy and availability. if your general can't continue the fight, maybe work out who's in second (and third) in-command. i will send pm's to the generals about exp levels soon, just so you all know where you stand.

@nekosasu: i had put the 16/17 as the tentative date when judging with be done. gid will be tying up the two remaining battles, i'm hoping she will have that done soon (VIVA EL EVI! ;p)

@blu: i believe gid originally wanted everything in .jpeg. i think it's easier to just keep things the same.

gid will be around a bit for those of us that will have questions, but she has effectively quit the battlegrounds.

Um, most of us are effectively dead, even though a couple people wouldn't mind continuing... x_x

So I guess I'd suggest, announcing some sort of winner after the two remaining battles wrap up, and then sort of start over for the people who want to continue. Redistribute/consolidate teams or whatever, so that way the people who've participated but can't anymore can get some sort of closure, and then the people who want to continue can continue with fresh people who want to do it.

As far as I know, you do NOT need AP to up to respect the wallpaper guidelines, do you?
We respected ALL of your conditions (which obviously always try to keep grayserg's vectoring skill to a minimum but that's not the point), we had all our walls done for the due date. Obviously you didn't, as I'm reading these logs. And the excuse that AP was down doesn't count because AP was down for only a few hours, you could have submitted your wallpapers on the date without a doubt.

That's sad, especially since the original deadline said... "DEADLINE: August 13th". And now suddenly it's 16th, 17th. So tell me one thing, why do you set a deadline if you can't even respect it? Seriously, the deadline extension already ticked me off in the first war but, yeah, excuses and excuses. This time there are no excuses - if someone had been unavailable then they're AWOL. If the general battlegrounds rules try to be as realistic as possible then exceptions should not be made. In a war, we cannot wait. Corruption obviously plays a huge part in it too, though. Oh who cares anyway, in the end excuses will still be made and there will be no penalties, as suspected. Whatever.

Get your facts straight noob. Dont you ever think before you act? Oh and about the grayserg part; its a stratagy use for every group. Take advantage of THEIR strongs weakness. Haha now i feel like challenging you and i'll make you cry >( - Thats another stratagy use for any group; attack the weak. >)

Okay, seriously. I mean, fuck. What does it matter? Before I go start, I'd like to add, that first war's extension really helped your army out. I had one wall from your army. ONE. I'm not trying to say anything aside from, life's a little more important than this walling war. If people can't make it because, say, the transponder blew and they had no power, I'm going to take the wall. And realistically, no one's going to sit on the computer all day, waiting for AP to be up so they can submit a wall. Kalico talked to me until I went to bed, and AP wasn't up. Therefore, I didn't get the ONE wall she was waiting for from AP. I'm mean, shit, if that's how it's supposed to be, then I won't work, I won't eat, and I'll set my deadlines for 12 hours from now and not worry about a damn thing. That's what you're saying isn't it? Setting deadlines we can't keep?

And, have you ever paid attention to the front page before? The dates that have been listed have been the dates the judging and everything have finished, and I actually post up the walls, unless stated otherwise. Also, the bit about corruption? I don't even know how to answer that. White talked to me. And guess what? I told him no, and that the only thing that would stop me docking points would be if he was on the Off Duty list or not. You want to know what this means? That I'll be docking 3% from their score because he didn't have a wall. And so you know, I got the walls on the day they were supposed to be given to me.

I would really like it if in the future you didn't decide to insult my persons, and maybe took a step back and thought about the situation.

The fact that I didn't know if you actually got the walls on the date most probably triggered my outrage. I really can't cope with uncalled time extensions, especially if it's the one party who sets the deadline their selves. And seeing that they were lightly playing around with the words of "I'll talk to Gid" and all made me (and not only me) jump to conclusions - cheat, corruption, etc. Not that I do care much about who wins or who loses, but I care about the correctness of the competition.

My apologies if my post was too offensive, especially to you Gideon - I do reckon that you also don't have an easy task, but it didn't seem that obvious to me yesterday 5 am. I didn't necessarily mean you with my "non-respect of deadline", but those who actually asked for an extension. Well either way, I am sorry.

Yes you should. because a Challenge is a Challenge. and it's up to the Challenger what he/she want to challenge on. i mean. the Challenges that CRIMSON gives out are pretty reasonable. out of.. other Challenge (no offense here to Any armies. xp. or anything like that) gives out. we try to not have too much restrictions, but making it "CHALLENGING" (there's the key word.. sound familiar?) and fun at the same time.

By 'resetting' it would also be a good opportunity to tweak the rules some to address some of the land exp cost/exp earning ratio imbalance. Perhaps by making land cost more (50 exp?), and keeping the daily earning low would reduce the land-grabbing so that the final outcome depends more on battle performance than the economic game.

@shadow_dude - salmon is good. rich in omega-3!

@ chibi: the war definitely don't have to start over from scratch, but please consider some type of closure announcement before consolidation of armies, starting of new challenges, etc. Like, who has most EXP, land, what-not. Otherwise to me it feels a bit like a never-ending commitment... granted this isn't a usual wallpaper competition, but it'd just be nice to see where everyone stands, wrap things up and congratulate everyone who participated in "war part 1" before "war part 2" begins.

my walls were in on time, and the deadline wasn't even extended a full 24 hours. i just wasn't sure when i'd even be back in NY at that point. as for the FIRST deadline extension, my entire hous eblew out. every concievable electronic in my house was fried. except my laptop, which, luckily was in california getting it's LCD repaired. you don't believe me? i have pictures of the fire department pulling out the melted surge protectors from my house. tell me if you were in my position, you wouldn't have asked the same thing. and i didn't ask for a second extension, i had redxxii carry out the sending of the walls for me when ic ouldn't reach the deadline which your army ended up needing even more than mine. w00t even agreed that he desperatly needed one.
as for the whole no vector thing, notice, every battle we've done has said, no vectors. and thats voted on by my army AS A WHOLE. id on't make the challenges, i just organize them and post them.
and don't even get me started on the border thing. because no idiot in their right mind would believe that a border is a line along ONE edge of a wall. a border covers 2 opposite walls, or all 4. and any self respecting human being would say the same. so, no matter how wonderful graysergs wall is, and they always are, if there is no identifiable border, than it doesn't count. we all had the same guidlines, and if woot couldn't explain to him what a border was well enough, thats not my problem. everyone in my army had a border, whether we wanted to or not.
it's just a fucking game. the point is to have fun, not whine and bitch about it. why is it that every other army here gets that except yours? it's for fun, and to have fun with a group of people in an "army" and for us, it's all about learning and trying new things, whether we win or not. who the hell cares if we win or not? if you guys beat us, then good for you. because we did our best, and we're having fun doing it.

Kalico, as I said previously, I don't care who wins or loses either. I am still a novice in making wallpapers (as probably most of you suspected =P) and I entered the Battlegrounds to gain more experience, like, maybe, a few others participants as well. That said, I can perfectly accept loss (like we probably will lose the second war but that's not the point at all). I simply got the feeling at some stage that something wasn't right with this competition, and since I hate unfairness, I ticked out. Even if it's for fun, if there's anything fishy, it's not fun anymore. As simple as that. Though now things now escalated to a full-fledged drama, which honestly wasn't my intention, my apologies again.

I admit I had some fun yesterday in IRC jumping on the bandwagon with heavily bashing the Borders (I didn't mean to hurt you nor anyone though, sorry ^^; Playing along would have been fun) but, very honestly, everyone does NOT know what a border exactly is. Read on: You immediately go by the definition, as you probably told anyone in your army how to do, but we were simply told: at least one border. And in other languages (I know only 6), border doesn't necessarily mean the same as in English, and since we're pretty sure what it is, we won't go and check one more time at dictionary.com! And I will overlook the insinuations of "self respecting human" and the likes, lol.
I have nothing to bitch about anymore. I did it publicly in the respective thread (suggestions? whines? help!) to know what people think about it. You could read this as well, which actually was my point. After all, if I just talked these things behind your back, I bet that would have been way worse.
