I doubt that a "quick" one minute film would make the production process easier. It is just additional work because even one minute films require work intense writing and dedicated directing that must not be underestimated. Also consider that we would have to start from scratch so it could take again some months before we can enter the actual production phase.
So if you still want to create the Selphina movie you should save up your energy for this one instead of putting efforts into another project. Honestly, we are not a professional animation studio that can cope with various projects at the same time without losing motivation and energy.
Furthermore I have to announce that I will not be that free for this project anymore as I have been up to now. I hope you understand that my current preparations for animation school (I need to create some animated shorts by myself) have a higher priority than the Amateur Anime Group. I also need to recover from my wrist injury.

Well, I understand as well. But this group does not seem very active anymore. I a still 100% willing to create this short animation.

Okay, well since Cibo has been away I will try to do as much work as I can get it. I have school work to deal with and time is slim-er now but I WILL create some concept art and post. Please remember folks, we do not need Cibo here to do our fair share of the animation. So far its gone really well, we just need to finish the story QUICK and start development. (also look for a replacement for haraki if he 100% is gone sadly)

Sounds like a good Idea, just because Haraki is out of the project does not mean we cant carry on. Ill need to find the time to do those.

Maybe I could help out with sounds. I've a DVD with Scifi-sounds for games. If I know what sounds we need, I could search on the DVD for the right samples. I also have a DVD with sounds for "normal" situations.
Read my signature, but don't expect a bookish masterpiece.
Asboi, just go look on the DVD's for anything that you think will be useful and also find out a way that you could possibly setup a link, or download for us for certain ones you think will best fit our film. This would really be a great help when it comes to dubbing sound. ALSO if we already know what sounds we have that could also influence how we animate it.

I finished the story board for scene 1. i just need to figure out how upload it because i broke my usb cord from my scanner. i'll post it as soon as i can.
things need to b done for scene 1:
background: - inside of selphina's house
- front doorway of selphina's house
- window where the frorest and the sky outside could b seen.(scene2 involves selphina searching in the forest for her lost pet.)
- 1 foot cement walls (cut1:selphina is running on cementwalls. only legs shown)
- outside of selphina's house where other houses could b seen (this is optional)
sound: - windchime
- running footsteps
- waterrunning on dishes
- foottapping
- voice actors for selphina and her mother(could be done later)
I might be able to do some of the animation scenes in flash or windows movie maker
but i'm going to need the bg done first.

Sounds pretty good, ill start up right as soon as we get the Storyboard up. Except, personally id feel alot more confident using Aftereffects for the basic animation like moving backgrounds and forgrounds etc. I can do Aftereffects animation, I believe Cibo is planning on it as well. Also this is one of the programs Shinkai uses today and in his past works.
Also,(ex.) noted if we use Aftereffects I can save a .PSD from photoshop (background image) and we can use it in animation. later during production, since they are linked programs through Adobe if I change the .PSD it will change it in Aftereffects also so we dont need to re-do animation just because we needed to alter some material.

Hey very good! Excellent job making quick characters! Just keep on doing this and we will be progressing alot. Ill try to start some digital paintings, my problem is that once I start one I cant leave it WAHHH.

Hmm, I think sound is at the least concern right now. I Think it would be best if you could Either draw out more Storyboards (b&W, or color) or even Architectural ones. So when the animatiors and Painters look at it, we know where the line of sight is etc... If that makes sense. OR start painting backgrounds, I just finished my newest wall so ill start working on the Project paintings soon.
