Some idea of what our combined skillset will allow us to gauge what's achievable, to set clear objectives.

Well, yeah. I'm thinking, break it up according to the different production aspects.

So anyhow I'll kickstart this:

Character Design I can't draw well enough to save myself. >_<
2D animation I make gifs. Guess that doesn't count, lol.
3D animation Wouldn't stand a chance.

Backgrounds
I hope to be of some help here, bring my scene perspective vectoring skills to bear. Although I don't have the l33t painting skillz of monchi or slaka, I can help with the first step of designing the scene, vector a skeleton to be painted in. Let's do interesting camera angles, eh?

Music / Sound
I occasionally meddle around with midi, not that I'm really good at it. Perhaps I could be of some assistance.

Story
I used to do a lot more creative writing back in high school, so I'm really hoping to be able to contribute here.

Japanese (in case we want to go all authentic)
Elementary level. I get by with a dictionary.

Character Design - Some experience, pale in comparison to Yina...

2D animation - Beginning study, not much experience. Can draw storyboards.
Tools: Imageready, After Effects

3D animation - Created several 3d animated shorts, intermediate.
Tools: RayDream Studio, Bryce, a few smaller modelers. May have Rhino soon..

Backgrounds - 10 yrs Photoshop experience XD But mostly photo related, intermediate painting/vector skill.
Tools: Photoshop, Wacom Tablet

Music / Sound - Create mostly electronic, techno and ambient
Tools: Vaz 2010, a few drum kits. Various apps to edit and put sound to video.

Story - Some creative writing in the past..
Tools: Notepad

Japanese - Very little

Character Design - Basically horrible compared to Yina :(

2D Animation - I am taking a 2-D motion class, so I can use Adobe Aftereffects quite decently. Although not well enough to animate a full 5min.
3D Animation - I have a few programs, but Can't use them basicall useless.
Background - I love backgrounds, have a wacom tablet, photoshop CS2 and Corel x3 Draw and Corel painter. I do well with more natural scenes(i.e clouds, sky, trees, fields, water, space etc. I am not very good with vectoring buildings etc.
Music/sound Meh not enough experience to create anthing worth wild, but I definatly can help out by sending in information of Artists, songs, genre's etc.
Story I have a few ideas that popp in my head from time to time, I just need to write them out (MS Word) Also I know how to write storyboards in an ameture sense.
Japanese "NANDE!" <-- There is my Japanese library.

NOTE: I am willing to work on this animation as long as needed, even past the originally planned 3-months.

Character Design - learning
Background - learning, more interested in gaining experience than actually skilled. I have painted a few things in the past, but nothing overly original. I use Photoshop CS2 and a drawing tablet. Can handle simple perspective but nothing as complex as hamster's fancy angle works. I can vector but prefer to paint for this project.
Story - used to write a bit, but not dialogues type. Would love to learn to storyboard.
2D/3D animation, sound, jap - zilch, none, nada

Suppose painting is the thing that I really want to push myself with this project, but I'm still a learner myself and definitely not a painting guru in any shape or form.

Character Design - I love to draw people with strange clothes! *_*

2D Animation - 0%

3D Animation - 0%

Background - Still learning... I painted two bgs for harakiri's animation and drew some bgs for my wallpapers but I mostly suck when it comes to bgs cuz they're not original at all.. >_>

Music/sound - I like to sing karaoke songs. @_@

Story - I wrote several stories for my mangas but could never draw them.

Japanese - Genki desu ka, Yina desu, chikusho, nande... I only know a few Japanese expressions from Animes.

Tools - Photoshop CS2, Tablet

Character Design I am not so fond of designing clothes or hairstyles (that's why my characters always look bland xD). I would gladly use Yina's character designs :)

2D Animation I am still learning but I did some animated shorts in the past. I've gained some experience in this field so I hope I can deliver a good quality now.

3D Animation I tried out Maya and made some mecha animation with it. But I prefer good old handdrawn style.

Background I love drawing architecture but I hate coloring backgrounds xD I am not familiar with landscapes.

Music/sound I was recently introduced to "Mac Logic" at work so that I could handle the sound. But unfortunately I cannot use the company's equipment and sound footage for this project.

Story There are enough other talented writers who can write stories. Mine are always somehow chaotic and incoherently concluded xD

Japanese I know some anime standard phrases but I cannot speak that language properly.

Voice Acting I am ashamed when I hear myself on a recording xD

Character Design - Umm, I'm thinking I'm not gonna be much help here.

2D Animation - Nah.

3D Animation - Nope.

Background - Learning. I have a tablet and as soon as the musical I'm involved in right now is over I'm gonna have so much more time to fiddle around with it, so we'll see.

Music/sound - I've played piano for 7 years (Still not very good though), I have a flute that I can play, and I've played saxophone for 6 years, I'm in Jazz band, Symphonic band, Pep band, Orchestra pit, etc. I might be some help composing music, but as for recording, I don't think I have the software or hardware to help.

Story - I am really good with grammar, at least when I'm trying. Pretty good at creative writing and short stories. My friend and I are planning on working on ideas again when the musical is over (opening night is on Friday!).

Japanese - I'm almost done with Japanese1 in school. I have a friend that I'm sure would be willing to help who is in Japanese 5. So I could help here. I can make things sound Japanese. I'm awesome at speaking English in Japanese.

Voice Acting - Actor! Right here! :-P

Character design-- i can help about 35% here

2D animation -- 1% chance

3D animation -- nope

background design -- i don't have a tablet but still i can help with how will we view the characters. or what angle

music -- yes, i only got interested in playing our keyboard about 2 years ago.so i am not that good.

story -- when it comes to this one i can also help, i am good also in grammar and in imaginating things.XD

tools-- i have gimp, photoshop cs2, piano, flute.

voice acting-- maybe, but i think the voice must be suited for the character..it must be evaluated or lets have a evalation of voices? eh?
japanese -- i know how to speak japanese sukoshi(a little). like ohayo gozaimasu, genki desuka etc..

Character design = has some experience but I'm not really good. they all turn out the same.
2d animation= has some experience making animated gifs and amvs. I use adobe flash cs3
3d animation = nope
bg design= not good with bgs. probably vector.I could use photoshop but i prefer using photoimpression because its easier for me.
music= just keyboard/piano
story= takes me a while to write 1 page.
Japanese = 2-3 yrs of experience but not fluent. enough to understand. can read but still need to learn some kanji.
some references I use are;

kanachart.com = a chart of hiragana, katakana, and some kanji
kanjisite.com = a chart of commonly used kanji. some kanji are missing.

tools= PhotoImpression 4, Adobe Flash CS 3 pro, windows movie maker

Character design = I can say I have much expierence but I still play in the amateur-league. Also I have much trouble to design women and girls. I can't say why.
2D animation = I've made a six minutes long animation one year ago, but I have still much to learn.
3D animation = I cannot describe my skills here but I can show them. Battle for Corucant

Music = Let me think...........no.
Sound design = If I have the right soundsamples I could make a 5.1 surroundsound, but I don't think that is necessary.
Story = I think I'm good at it, but don't count on that.
Voice acting = Don't even try to ask me for acting, besides you want an evil badguy with a strong german accent.
Japanese = A little more words than everyone knows.
