I have no idea how they messed it up but the head and his deputy both got fired for it.
and ... hmmm... welll in my opinion ... people should only try to get into med school if they strongly believe that they have the brains to digest all the information.
sadly in american universities almost everyone aaround you is a bio major of some sort.
and i wonder what they will do with their bio majors too if they dont excel at it considering the number of people studying for it.
hehehe... compared to that... computer science which has very few takers these days has a whole lot of jobs to offer so there's a little bit of room to slack off ;)
so make a wise choice is all i say :)
study what you are good at and learn what you like on the side.
p.s. this is not in a harsh tone :)

One of the students from my school is studying in UK and he said that English universities force you to learn way less than Lithuanian universities >_> most of the time we have to learn more than it's needed =/
Hmmm... the thing about most international (as in world class) univs emphasize a lot on practice rather than learning stuff and spitting it out for just one exam.
I used to think that they were teaching me very less here in the US compared to my previous uni in India but then I sort of realized that i'm actually learning a lot by doing all the projects and etc etc... lol
well lets put it this way...
In india I was a dumbass or atleast i felt like a dumbass cuz i managed to scrape through all my exams. It felt great to just pass my subjects instead of scoring high marks.
but here in the US i'm getting perfect A(s) in all my computer science courses.
And even though the subject material is a little less rigorous than what i had in india, its still great.
I mean all my indian friends may have gotten high scores on their final exam (thats all that counts there) and etc etc without doing a single homework.. while i on the other hand can write a handle writing a full program without any problem at all and they can't ;)
so yeah thats the difference when they say the difficulty is less... the intl. unis teach you stuff thru projects and homeworks and practicals :)
but the thing is all the educational systems lead you to the same objective :D
OMG.. this turned out to be a f******g huge essay.,....lol
I guess I'm getting old :(

Most students here are in commerce or arts, but mostly commerce. There are quite a few in bio, yet there seems to be a huge shortage of doctors in Canada. It's such a pain to try and find a family doctor here. *cough*most of our med students are moving down to the U.S*cough* XD
I accepted the Ottawa U. (U of O! /o/ ) offer, damn I wanted to go to Toronto. Unfortunately my parents have me chained down to the house. ~_~ Oh well, I'm getting an apartment with my friends next year. Plus, for graduate school I plan on getting out of this city! :D
I plan on going to law school. < 33
meeeeeeehh from what I know, most countries in Asia are like that about marks. XD It's all about getting perfect, and if you come home with 100% its still not good enough because theres always the chance of bonus marks. lol!
haaaaaaahh VB is getting old. XD Speaking of old, I just got back from the pharmacy where the pharmacist mistook me for a 13 year old. =.=
*self stab* Maybe I can work this to my advantage and fake my age so I can pay less to get into the movies. XD

13 year old! that happened to me too, except that it was more like the lady at the internet cafe didn't want to let 'high school freshmen' use the pcs on school days. I was already in college then =__='
All my schools have been conveniently near the house, i didn't even need to commute, just a half-hour's walk away. Same with my current school, so I haven't experienced really living in a dorm, just invading my best friends' dorm once in a while. They tell me all sorts of horror stories D: not like your suite vb.

Lol @ college talk in the spam thread xD
It's close to the end of my second year in a university, and I'm stressed about my career already :( In high school, I was stressed about getting in to a good college. It's a never ending cycle of stress.
Oh, and don't major in comp sci unless you really, really, really, really like coding and not having a life in college. At least if you go to a major university like mine >_> And final exams suck when they're like 50% of your quarter grade x_x

Argh, so you're saying that even after I enter university there will be more stress to await me. ~_~ Ah oh well, I'm just glad I'm through with this step of stress. lol
I would never be able to do comp science. I'm just taking language courses and majoring in English for my undergrad because law schools couldn't care less what you study before hand as long as you get a high grade. (at least over here thats how it works) xD
I'm also taking a Japanese course, which is one of the only courses that I'm looking forward to along side my English courses.
Dear god, 50% @_@ Good luck with that 50% VB. XD

Hmmm... i disagree with you halcyon :P
If you consider the fact that i dont go to classes and pretty much stay outside my suite roaming about or playing soccer or just enjoying a hookah and still manage to get an A in all my classes then i'm like really having fun at college an its not 50%
well if you suck at programming and if your reason for taking computer science is the fact that you have played every game since pong and you know how to use linux then you are in the wrong field. (p.s. not you halycon.. not you)
hmmm... and on the contrary if you are a bio student then you have to spend hours understanding the material and you have to read your textbook again and again plus you have practical labs and experiments that stretch over two lab sessions and etc etc.
plus they also have to study day and night for their exams... lol
for me in comp sci its the direct opposite cuz it only takes about a 3 to 4 hours to finish studying for an exam cuz there's very little to study but a lot of subtle things to understand ... comp sci's heaven for me right now... lol
p.s. check this out too ;)
