It happened to me recently that after downloading a scan were Ringo from Air Gear was naked I did a vector of it. Most you must have seen it after the redrawing with clothes. What you may not know is that before that the original naked vector was not accepted and I deducted papers for nudity offense, or something of the sort.
Even after that they deleted the scan from Beckor from the gallery!

However, that is not the worst of it.
Yesterday I put up a violation report regarding a scan I considered to be guilty of nudity and bad taste and terribly provocative.
I got this lame answer:

Not that I am particularly against this scan. I just wanted to get a scan as naked as Beckor's and see if anyone other than apbot deleted it based on such crap. Guess what? At least Dioma didn't. So?
What are we going to do with such an unfair situation??

The big bad wolf makes a entree. Looking into your situation I can understand a bit of it and this is a long road and also a difficult one.

First off the moderators/administrators of AP. Please dont try to look at all of them as rotten apples. There all different persons of flesh and bones and all have there own method of working. When deleting/accepting scans based on ecchi a large factor is who checks it, one person has a higher echi-border than the other.

Second is the subject on echi-scans. AP once had a poll 'whutfor do you download scans? A) to look at the pretty pictures B) to use them for grafic work. To my suprise A won by 70% so that explains a bit of the popularity of echi-scans. People who get exited by drawn echhi-material come here to get them in high-res (baka's), they contribute in that way to AP by spending papers and visiting the site. [more people equals more uniques ip's equals more money from adverts equals more money to spend on server costs] Therefore it would be throwing in your own windows to bann ecchiscans forever.

Third is the most discussable the echi-wallpapers. There (almost) not here, the scan of the two girls you sampled is like impossible ore hard to use to make a good (A-quality) wall off. There are just maybe a few examples of wallpapers out there that combine a bit of ecchiness and artistic blend in. Two good examples imo

expecially the last one is a high discussion point, why is that allowed? will get back to that later.

You could compare cheap echi-walls to cheap-bleach wallpapers (no offence). I often notice that a fairly simple bleachwallpaper hits the daily #1 place, and that comes because i think the large bleachfanbase that is hanging around. Imagen simple quick-echi-walls were allowed in a way, that would then result in a daily top3 flood of echiness. And that is something AP wasnt build for.

Coming back to crapmonsters tenjou tenge wallpaper that features breasts. The reason this got accepted is of the fact that it took a week to vector the entire wallpaper and also some stuff was custom edited to improve the looks. Its a work of art, it features breasts but it doesnt lay the detail on that (no nipplecircles to see). It doesnt involve two girls getting jiggy ore some topless on a trampoline. It is a good example about when something can be called artistic-nudity.

Continuing to the subject of the original issue where it was my scan of air-gear that was to 'ecchi' for ap and got deleted because of that. Air gear has a high echifactor and most of the scans involve stuff that are past the border if my scan was.
Therefore I will start a topic in the secret hidden ninjabase of the admins about a re-acception of my scan, forwarding with arguments of other scans that are more echi.

Yes, something similar happened to me, but I agree with Beckor. Every Administrator is not the same. For example, I tried to upload some scans in wrong category (not intentionally of course) and I got 100 papers deducted from each time, except one day when I got like 3 scans rejected and no papers deducted.

I think that ecchi walls or scans shouln't be banned or deleted.
Let me explain before you all guys jump up. I think that a little ecchiness I kinda normal and between boundaries of accepted nudities. Even full nude scans can be between the boudaries.
For example take the op of Brain Powered, the girls are naked yet the nakedness is not the main aspect, and it is not offensive in any way. It's like they just happen to be naked but it doesn't matter.
Sometimes the human figure is at it's most beautiful in a naked picture. Or not. It all depends on the intention related to the scan. For example an ecchi scan that's like naughty or perv in a funny way it's ok.
The only scans I think are not ok, are for example those that are quite clear on the intent, like the one I posted about above. It's quite clear they are on to bussiness...

And there's no chance of turning that into a cute wall...Or maybe there is...but at least there should be a division, that kind of scan cannot be allowed when others like Beckor's that are not as sexual intended are deleted due to same degree of nudity.

@iroveashe: as admin when removing/accepting a scan/wallpaper there is the option to fine the user 100paper. I always base my choice on the occasion, is it a fresh submission and did the user not check if the scan was allready present then i happen to fine them. If the scan is allready submitted and its a duplicate ore sompt I think it was a mistake made by the admin/mod who accepted it therefore i wont fine the submitting user the 100papers. Some always fine, some never fine. Besides its not having no paper is the end of the world (says me with almost 0 paper costs :P)
Anyhows back to echi-subject

Scans and wallpapers are both devided by a different degree of allowed echiness. The scan acception line is lower then the wallpaper acception line. This also because of many artbooks producing light-echi shots.
AP accepts official scans that meet the requirements stated in the AP Guide, so judging by those guidelines its hard to not-accept echi-scans. Only when it is in conflict with this line
Ecchi is allowed, but anything that is too suggestive, will be rejected. Panty-shots, underwear, all that is fine, so long as it doesn't go too far to be borderline hentai
see AP Guide -> scan submission for the whole patch about hentai and echi borderlines. There is also mentiond the word magic-word 'artistic nudity'

For wallpapers there any more rules to meet then for scans, and so it has many more dropdown lines for it. And especially because hardcore-echi scans are 99 out of 100 times inusable for wallpapers that is why the wallpaper echi scene is kept very low. The echiwalling group trys to boost this up a bit within the ap-guidelines.

I believe APsystem at the moment works fine, sometimes mistakes are made and that is something that happens everywhere. Also because keeping in mind that the minimal age for ap is 13. And that i myself consider some echi scans softpornografic in a way, I think it is not necessary to lower the echi lines. Maybe even a age-lock on some catogories altough that is easy to surpass by entering other birthdate, not to mention hardwork programming :/ its getting late. we need some fresh arguments in here

Well, for the sake of it, I think that at first the ecchiness in an ecchi scan was far less than what it is now. Groups like the anti-ecchi wallers have helped in this, but since there are ecchi walls I think ecchi people is trying to get other wallers to slowly get used to them in order to make us more gullbile and accustomed to seen ecchiness.
Don't you think? If we get familiar with it, then soft ecchiness will soon be considered normal and so on.. And that's not good.

You know it's not just about the ecchi-ness but also
the size of each image i've already read the Ap guides and when my sister
tried to submit something it didn't get accepted because the size was too small
but truth is i've seen way smaller images and they got accepted.

i sized the characters it was perfect no mistake it was suppose to get accepted.
i mean it got accepted in minitokyo why wouldn't it get accepted here!

i know it's not my place to say this but the Ap Administrators are unfair,
the only one i see who does her work fairly is ^Nat.
at least she gives a reasonable answer why it was deleted,unlike APbot,
he/she is an unreasonable person.

the strange part is that most of the ecchi scans are usually top rated.
i wonder why? most of them aren't even artistic nudity...

Well... Truth is ecchi scans hit the top rated list because people keep dowloading them. Guess why?? Cause there are guys who love drooling over half or completely naked babes and lolitas!
Regarding the unfairiness of adms or mods, could you exemplifie more clearly? Like with an example or anechdote about what were your experiences... That would be very helpful.
I agree that apbot often contradicts himself or gives non-insightfull explanations about why you got a wall rejected or such things.. I've been through that too...

ive compared the scans and read other persons opinions about this question and to clearefy the echi-scan-border:
- b/w scans are less suggesting nakedness, it could be a body suit
- there arent any nipples drawn, then its considerd under barbie/manequin nudity and allowed
- suggestion scans with clear hentai meanings are still not allowed

I say there is a new topic to be created about mods fairness looking into gfh99 her opinions on the administrators. And just for the record: APbot is not a member/persons/real living being. Bot is the name for a computer controlled person, like in a computershooter game enemys run by the program can be called bots.
APbot is a option for administrators to use to prevent large discussions with members about why something was rejected. Some persons cant get a good discussion goign and then results in wining and claiming we are bad etc.

Okay, No. I'm not a member of this group. I was messaged by a member (who shall remain nameless) who had some concerns about this, so I just wanted to say a couple things.
First, the reason the airgear SCAN is acceptable is because it is grayscale and a lot can be done with it. It's not colored as the color of her skin, and therefore, can be taken in several other ways. The wallpaper uploaded had changed the color to a skintone, therefore implying she was naked. Nudity is fine, so long it is artistic. Why was that not artistic? the angle alone was enough. I myself have a nude wallpaper:

Why is that acceptable? it is not erotic in any way. It is CLEARLY artistic nudity, seeing as it is an art modeling session scene. I have no problem with nudity, and neither does the rest of the staff, so long as it is tasteful.
As for why ecchi scans fluctuate, that is simply because, as stated, we have different opinions. I myself am a harsh judge. Thats not because I have a thing against nudity. I'm an artists...I've probably seen more naked people than all of you combined. But if it looks like anyone is about to engage in any kind of sexual act, it's out. Other staff will say it's fine so long as they are not naked.
Really, I think a lot of it should be the uploaders responsibility to say..."is this PG-13?"

Anyways, I really see no reason to bitch and moan about this stuff. When people complain about scans, they are removed. If that airgear scan had been colored it would have been worse than the ne linked previously because there was no censoring over her breasts at all. But it is in greyscale, so leave it to the imagination.

By the way...you guys DO realize that APbot is a BOT, right? he's just a disguise for the staff because we used to get 50 pms a day of people bitching about their rejected scan/wallpaper. Hard to do any work when you have to keep cleaning out your inbox.

I just didn't think that only one admin should be in here stating the case is all.
I only really join groups about the sappy romances I like.

Anyways, so long as everyone behaves, thats fine.
I just think that a lot of the members here need to keep in mind that we're all frm different countries and backgrounds. Me, nat, and Pink are from the states, bantam is from england, Dias is in Malaysia, tate is in the Philippines, etc. It would be weird if our opinions DIDN'T differ.
