Well I ve made this topic cause Music something that inspires me a lot,and seriously I listen
a lot of music during the day!

Well, my #1 band is Deftones, I like New Wave Metal, um... i HATE pop music or "Radio Music" I believe that pop music is profit based shite, there's no... art in profit. Real music, consists of talent, creativity and the occasional narcotics. lol. I believe you have to give every kind of genre a taste test, and once you've found what you like, don't give a shit about what other people say about your music, they don't have to listen to it, as you don't have to listen to their music. oh yeah, and Deftones are gods amongst men!
I listen mostly to classic/hard rock and heavy metal [awaiting POM's sarcasm here] and recently got into the blues. Other types of music I like listening to are classical, celtic/folk, some progressive rock and greek rock.
Favourite artists include Rainbow [the Dio years], Black Sabbath [the Dio years], Dio [yup, I'm a rather big fan XD], Joe Cocker, Scorpions, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, America, Alice Cooper, Dokken, GNR, Ratt, Tarot, Toto, Uriah Heep, Whitesnake, Jimmy Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Little Al Thomas, Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Loreena McKennitt, Triskell, Deanta and others I don't remember :P

No fav band. Just depends what mood im in. Recently Modest Mouse has been played throughout the day. Song: Missed the Boat. :) Mainly I listen to soft rock/alternative/electra/indie-ISH type songs hahaha.

Billy Talent FTW! Just like ze said...I don´t like "radio music" too, my radio serves me as alarm clock, hmm but I´m not that much of idealist when it comes to commercial bands...everyone is commercial, one more another less that´s my opinion, you can´t do musci for freee so...
Originality is what I´m searching for, doesn´t matter what style, originality and ideas are important for me but you can find mostly rock, punk-rock and stuff like that in my playlist but I listen to music from really every corner =P

Hmmm... sorry guys, i wasn't too clear in my first comment, i realize you can't make a living outta being a musician, and make music for free... i agree with you spirit... all signed bands are commercial, however, it's when the musician, throw's originality out the window, and start's sing about "all these Ho's in da club", and "how much money bling bling that i got". thats when i switch off the radio. They are'nt singing about anything new anymore, it's self-promoting crap, all the artists are doing is giving listener's a catchy tune, with shitty lyrics and no meaning, so they can get to the number one spot and make a quick buck of some kid, who wants a life of Ho's and Bling Bling. That to me, is not music... Nirvana was music, ACDC, Metalica, Eagle's, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeplin, Run DMC,..., i could type untill my fingers fall off. my point is they are all good musicians, because the made/make good music. They made music because they loved music, not because they wanted to get rich, getting rich was a bi-product of their dedication and love of music, where as most pop musicians, music is a bi-product of the desire for a big bank account.
Now for my opinion
I ll just add some genres coming to my head if I could describe to someone what kind of music I do hear.

i suck at genres... so as i'm clueless.. i will simplify it with tree words...
grunge-rock and electronic music..
i like a lot radiohead, stone temple pilots, soundgarden, audioslave, foo fighters... and i used to hear a lot metallica and nirvana when i was at highschool...
and electronic music.. it's the other thing i love... ^_^ hear a woofer pretty loud... and party time lol.. *dances*
And sometimes when i fell like calmed i hear to old music... genre?.. >_> no idea.. lol
but classics from the 80s-90s
ok.. i'm old guys >_> you'll understand when you have 21-22 years lol.. and after a few boyfriends.. old music will always be there lol... Nighteyes-gr named some good old classic singers/bands.. scorpions is a good one ^^, toto too.. and many more..

me personally ive been into instrumental music just because most new lyrics i hear in songs today make me wanna vommit up my intestines and pour some hotsauce on them and chew/swallow/repeat.. (other words: "they disgust me and make no sense")
