How fast is your pathway to the Information Superhighway?
Here's mine:
ISP: Mediacom (It says AT&T Worldnet, because I think they buy their bandwidth from them)
Type: Cable
Modem: RCA DCM425
Location: Sheffield, Iowa, United States
Promised Bandwidth: Up to 15Mbit down, up to 1Mbit up, unlimited transfer
Price per month (without bundles): $70
Yeah, I guess I like them. Far and away the fastest in the area, however also among the most expensive. The 2nd fastest is Qwest 7/.8 for $40. Good uptime (in fact I've never seen it down), and the speeds stay 13/.850+ all day.

Oh and btw, Orchid, that comma in the link does evil things when you click on it directly! :(

Come on man, nobody's going to laugh at your connection.
Unless it's dialup. ;)

ISP: O2
Type: UMTS
Modem: NaviLink 4.0 GPS5300
Location: UK
Promised Bandwidth: none
Price per month (without bundles): It's part of a bundle...

THis is the result for Broadband though i have a LAN (local Area Connection).
Time when results appeared:6:54 Am Pakistan Time

ISP: Think it's Sky, though could be Virgin
Type: ADSL
Modem: Would need to look it up, but it's a Sky branded Netgear modem/router.
Location: UK, Wales
Promised Bandwidth: Unknown
Price per month (without bundles): Unknown
I'll know more about it when the people who set it up move back in. And I can't say about reliability as the modem/router is rubbish or configured badly.
motogpWell i just Discovered that Deep Dragons net also sucks...No offense DD..Oks heres mine
None taken, it's not my main connection anyway. For a mobile connection it's not bad though I think I had the signal drop out a bit during the test.

I pay 30 euros a month which is according a money converter 40.8163 USD
I've got a modem which is not ADSL, it's a modem working with the tv cable (not with phone lines). Sorry, i don't know how it's called in english.
ISP: Voo (it was teledisnet before).
Promised download : 4 Mbps
Promised upload 128k

TYPE : ADSL
MODEM : Mega 100 WR
LOCATION : Cape Town, South Africa
PROMISED BANDWITH : 384/96

motogp: Is your connection shared with anybody else?
Anyway, I was kind of hoping for an angry Comcast user to post in this thread, but hey. :P

>_>
<_<

Oh well...
ISP: As it states. Iqara.. blah blah blah... stupid ass lame and idiotic ISP full of morons...... >_>
Type: Cable
Modem: Motorola SB5101i-CN...... @_@........ no, i'm not reading the serial number. Thats the model name!

Location: India
Promised Bandwidth: 2 Mbit downloads and 384 Kb/s uploads...... >_>
Price Per Month: $30
Package: 2 GB per package. (As in.. the package i use.. and i usually need around 4 Gbs per month. So, i've to buy that package twice each month. Note that the price i mentioned is the price per month. And not per package.)
Yes, it's the lamest you'll ever see! T_T
I never even got into the actual or official broadband range either with any of the tests i did! >_<
But here's an update:
I've just got a different ISP today. And although they aren't much different but are still... a bit better:

ISP: Again.. as it states.
Type: ADSL
Modem: Zte ZXDSL 831 II
And here's another proof of how much the ISPs here in India fool the customers..
Promised Bandwidth: 4 Mbit Download and 512 Kb/s Upload... >_>
However...
Price per Month: $25
It is a bit cheaper and...
Package: 4.5 GB per month
... a bit reasonable too.
BUT! The point is, THEY ALL ARE FREAKIN LIARS!!

Oh well, it happens only in India... ~_~

It's not the actual speed. It's a shared internet connection on my apartement, so it's worse than the preview speed. ^^
[X]-iLe
OrchidDeepDragoon: That's not bad for on the go. How's the coverage? The only mobile broadband provider in my area is Sprint, and they ONLY work in the city I work in and by the freeway. Passed that, you're screwed. Buddy of mine can get 220-240kbps down on it though. Supposedly AT&T (Cingular lol) is adding the functionality in the area, but I'm not holding my breath.
Generally the coverage is pretty good, I've even been able to use a 3G connection in some of the remote parts of Wales.
The reception where I am at the moment is very good, though I expect it to be as I'm living in the capital.

Orchidmotogp: Is your connection shared with anybody else?
Hun yeah my is a LAN thats why...In reality the ISP guy is giving service to more than he should and all he does is brag about that what a nice net he has and if you ask him to increase the nets speed he says sure but wouldnt...I asked him to put more servers on so that the speed is equally divided but no he doesnt..All he cares is bout the damn money he is making
