Broken Promises

It was an evening, which wasn't as quiet as Misteria's evening ever be. The sky is dark, and the grey clouds spiraled towards one center, a large black hole. Creating a massive pillar that spun like a hurricane. The wind blew fiercely, and i could hear the sound of explosion from afar.

The great war between the chaos and Misteria has begun.

"Feb, let's go to a safe place now. Hurry!" Kumo held my hand tightly and dragged me out from the place we were before. His face showed an obvious anxiety, and it seems that the wind is a bit too strong for someone like him. But, he didn't stop his pace.

"But where are we going?" i asked. i felt the same anxiety flow throughout my body. The wind got stronger, and the meteors which started to came wasn't doing any good. I clinged into Kumo's arms tightly, never wanted to let him go.

It was a total chaos. Everyone was in panic. Explosion was everywhere, dead bodies lying helplessly above the ground of Misteria which always covered in mist.

"I'll get you to the airplane and get you out of Misteria." Kumo answered without even looking at me.

"What about you?"

"I'm staying behind." his words were to my shock.

"You're not leaving?!"

Kumo shook his head, "No."

I felt the horror took over my mind. It was CHAOS that he's going to face, and he won't make it. If he dies then the things we were through was all for nothing. I stopped my pace and hold him back from proceeding further.

"If you're not leaving so will i" i said stubbornly. There's no way i would left him behind. I know being stubborn isn't an option for the situation. But i can't left Misteria without him.

"Feb, please. This is dangerous. I don't want you to be endangered here with me. Please.." Kumo's voice was obviously pleading. But i, still with my stubbornness, shook my head.

"No, at least my power would protect you. I don't want you to be in danger alone. We promised, right? That we will through everything together.."

Kumo suddenly held me, through the cruel slices of the wind, his body is the only warmth i felt.

"Feb, if you love me, please.." he held me closer, "please..."

It's not fair. If he's pleading like that there's no way i could resist. However..however..

"You'll be killed.." my voice trailed weakly in the middle of the chaotic storm. My heart is at chaos as well as Misteria was. Kumo released me and stare deeply into my eyes with those pair of soul-piercing jadeite eyes.

"I'll be fine." Kumo convinced me. Though he said so but i knew that he wouldn't be as fine as he said. The airship was provided only for the Royal Family, a peasant like me won't be allowed to be onboard. But Kumo's access as the 2nd heir to the throne of Misteria Kingdom allowed me to board the airship.

The airship is full. There was both of Kumo's parents and the kingdom's prime minister there. I held Kumo's hands, while my eyes felt hot and my vision was blurred by the tears which was already at the edge of my eyes.

"You should be coming too." I said, sounded almost like pleading.

"I can't." Kumo stared at me with his brilliant jadeite eyes. "I have to defend our motherland."

"But there's no chance of winning over the Chaos!!" i said almost hysterically. Kumo just stand there and smiled to me. He suddenly pulled me and kissed me gently, i could sense the flow of his mist as he breathed the mist in as he kissed me.

"You'll be alright." he said, as gently as he usually did. "I promise. If things are going out of control. I'll be retreating with Kiri."

"Promise?" I gave my little finger at him.

He smiled, "Promise."

My eyes watered again, before we were drawn into our final kiss. And then the airship lifted from the ground, i saw Kumo's figure getting smaller and smaller. His jadeite-green eyes somewhat sparkled with a subtle sorrow. It was a total chaos. And Kumo was to left behind. There was a very little chance of winning, but he kept fighting instead to defend our very own homeland.

And that's when it was happened.

A meteor hit on our airship. I couldn't remember what happened next. It just felt hurt..and my body was torn, or so it felt like. The last thing i saw is the airship exploded and my body fell into the ground.

Kumo..i'm sorry. I'm the one who can't fulfil our promise.
It seems that fate had wrote that i'll be sleeping here in our homeland eternally
where our memories are to remain forever
all of it. every single piece of our memories.

It was evening, which wasn't as quiet as Misteria's evening ever be.
When i closed my eyes and my world was faded.
It was evening, when the last time i heard a voice of someone that i loved for eternity called at my name.
