Wallpaper Competition #7
Pick me!! pick me!! (_/)..
oh hang on...
oh hang on...

^ entry accepted.
but aw... T__T we can't have a proper contest with only three entries and i don't want to endlessly give out extensions. so i need to know: is this a problem of interest/difficulty or a problem of time? because if it is the theme itself that is repelling people, then i'll just have to enter myself and make it into a contest of four participants...like last time.

Personally, I think that it's because Script Refinery have competitions that are more challenging than those that I've saw before. It would probably got more entries if theme would be easier to archieve (but I like it more the way it is)
At least that's what I can say after seeing competition 7 and 8
I hope that I'll enter competition 8 too but to be honest, I have no idea what I can do
(I know that there is a list of ideas, but I prefer to think of something myself
)
But yeah, only 3 entries are not many

@deto: #7 is my fault, seeing as it is my idea. but i can sort of escape responsibility for #8. xD;; although i know you prefer the harder themes, do you have any ideas to make #8 easier? august and i were discussing it and we have loosened the rules somewhat. i fear it might not be enough though.
*sigh* i personally don't find these two contests extremely challenging, but then again, that's just me, one person. i've slapped something together for an entry if someone else doesn't come along with a wall -- it's my fastest wall ever and probably not very good. just there to fill the last place spot, lol. :P

Just by seeing how rarely I see good walls with a lot of text or good walls focused on a letter, I can say they are challenging
Maybe you're experienced at that types of walls
But I don't really have any idea to make it easier... maybe allow to use numbers?
(that doesn't really gives me any new idea
but maybe for someone it'll do) But on the other hand, it's "Right Down To The Letter" so it wouldn't make much sense then

Well, maybe they are just "undiscovered" ideas. it's not that i don't like other ideas, but i think originality is what makes a contest fun. however, evidently, it's not so for everyone.
i'll let august think of something for #9. she runs more successful contests than me. >__<
i wouldn't say i'm experienced with walls on either extremes of using text -- a lot of it or only one letter. (i'm experienced with nothing, actually, except the use of the pen tool.) but i have made a very text-ful wallpaper before -- see link in contest description.
and numbers are allowed under the "keyboard symbols" amendment of the rules for contest #8. x__x

*sigh* guess i'm going to have to enter myself. >__>
LOL kinda sad to see people just back away from comps like this
but i think it's because lot of people have hard time with txt in their wallpaper
for me i love texts in wallpaper if they are done correctly...im not good at this but thats why i joined this group.
heart464 just nails the text category, the contests i don't find hard but the implementation of the text can be difficult and thats the challenge
personally i thought it was a preety good one
