Yup, it's just as you suspected while reading the thread title "Scription Zero" and going "Wait a minute here..." This is going to be our very own Session Zero-esque thread! Every group member is welcome to seek advice on works in progress and every group member is encouraged to provide tips and critiques for others.

Of course, unlike its greater cousins, this thread will focus on works containing text. (Hence Scription Zero. And we are The Script Refinery, after all.) However, for those who wish to help out their fellow members, the advice does not have to be limited to text! You can comment on quality, composition, and anything else you would otherwise bring up in regular feedback sessions.

Take advantage of this thread and use it to its full extent! Having such a group session would help you target specifically the improvement of your typography skills. So don't hesitate to post away whenever you have a wallpaper that contains text. :D

To be honest, I really do like it. Really. It reminds me of an ad you'd see on tv.. or the opening theme you'd see showing the characters as the credits go by. Its really cool. Personally, I even like the 'yellow' bar on the left. I think it gives it a break up and makes it keep the motion because its not all 'flat' like. You know.

Only, think I could see is finding a nicer looking '@' symbol. I kinda doubt its going to look any better but you might find a font that carries a nicer looking symbol but I guess that's just minor.

Nice work. It would seem to be to be a 'branch' out for you. Its your style but just a little different. Which is perfect!!

I've got a wall here that I would love for you guys to take a look at. From the reactions I keep getting. There is still something wrong with it. I, personally, like it and would use it if I actually left my poor desktop alone. So, can you help me find what is still so wrong with it? I would love for it to get the appreshation it deserves.

I like the sunset! The colors are really nice, and you did a beautiful job on the sun and it's rays. For the text, it doesn't look bad, it's just... the font doesn't seem to fit quite right. I'd suggest something a little more with a Sailor Moon feel to it, if you get my meaning. Something a little more complex, or something that's just more pretty, less historic or classy. Something with sparkles of flowers and stylized corners or something.

For the senshi themselves, you'll want to work to make them glow like the sunshine I think. Take a look at that Sailor Mars wallpaper I did way back when, I really did a so lot of work on that to blend Raye in with the background and make her seem to glow with fire. If you look at the difference between the original scan and what she looks like in my wallpaper you'll see vividly what I mean. I overlaid some drastically changed copies of her image and put them behind and in front of her and then erased the original in little increments to get that effect. It was complicated, but I basically just got there by experimenting and trial and error. I think this would really look good with something like that. Of course with this it would be a lot more bright, but it could look really awesome. Even if you did just a little bit of it and finessed it right.

Hum, I have to say the two comments I read on it. I can't say I agree with. Except for the maybe giving her a cooler color. Maybe.

But for me. I would actually take out the 'text' in the bottom right corner. I don't think it needs it. Unless you want it. I'd say to move it to the left in the 'blackened' area near the bottom and blend it in there. And letting some of the 'text' get lost in the color of the city.

That, personally, is the only thing I can really think of that would help this wall. I don't know about everyone else but I think its well balanced for a wallpaper. The colors are pleasing to the eye and the effects are just cool in general. Actually, I seen this get put up like last night or the night before and thought you put it in the wrong place. I quickly went and retreaved myself a copy and have had it on my desktop for a day or so. I can't remember. But I like it. Even tho I'm not a fan of the show. *^^*heh I think she rather reflects you in it. If thats good or bad. Its up to you but I think its cool.

And thanks for commenting on my wall. I think I can do what you suggested because I totally refuse to vector it. The style of the scan is half the reason I chose it. So, thanks and I've still got a copy of your Mar's wall too. I remember that one did take you a long long time to get just right. But back then I wasn't much help but hopefully I am now. *^^*heh

Okay, here is another wallpaper that I've got up in S.Z. that isn't getting to much help. At least anything that I can work with in my mind for my vision of the wall.

I'll give you a short preview of the idea behind it. Even though you can probably read that when you look at it. Anyways...

Alright, I will keep an open mind.

Now, I don't exactly have a wallpaper issue here. But more of a lost text issue. I got a new computer and transported my stuff over to it and some where's along the lines. I lost this certain font. All I have left of it is an image that I used on a wallpaper that I'm trying to being back to life. So, if you know what it is or what style. It would help because I've looked around and couldn't find it. So, please.. anyone...

*^^*heh.. I knew that font had to be from dafont... they are the only one's that have good grunge but I must of been looking in another part. But I figured someone over here at the Script Refinery would know a thing or two about texts. And I was right. So, thank you so much again. I'll definatly show you the wall when I'm done with it..

*nods* I can't always take what people tell me about my walls but I don't always get someone who takes the time to talk to me like a human instead of just a waller who'll do whatever for there wall. And I thank you very much for that. I'm sure I can pull this wall off, yet.
