^nat
After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

But not 24 / 7, unless you don't sleep. At all. Completely. Oh well, at least we have members willing to help.

This is such a nice idea, Pyrotechnic. ^^ A well detailed RPG. Count me in and if you guys need some people for the "trial version" I'll try my best to post a lot on it. ^__^' It's like, I'll be the "test" Shinigami. hahah xD Well, I'll be okay, right? ^^' Anyway, I'm not of any high-ranking shinigami here so, I hope I'm not causing any disturbance. *gulp*

@~drift: Obviously, but I don't think Shinigamis will be playing the RPG 24/7 either.

@Blue: You better not vanish while playing P(>_<) emoticon xD

@Ziraki: XD Try re-reading each part carefully, or maybe I can help you with your confusion?

You're 1 out of many :P Plus you will go to bed eventually, you need to sleep something.

Anyways, a Captain doesn't have to reply as soon as a Shingami makes an action :/ They can wait a little for a reply, and I'll definitely be replying every day. It'll be no prob to wait if some are going to be around 24/7 right? :P

Well, that'll make turn by turn fighting a bit tedious, oh well, at least there'll be game anyway.

I don't know if you thought about this, but I was hoping you would tie in a Kidou system into this rpg. Just having a sword strike/a sword strike with reiatsu/ask for help/escape as options for each fight could turn out to be quiet boring considering most of this rpg is about fighting hallows. These ideas of course will require quiet a bit of record keeping for the captains, but I think you already know that since you will have to keep records of each player’s status anyways.

I was thinking that maybe all shinigami should learn skills along with Bakudou and Hadou techniques as he levels. And there should be contradictions in what one can learn to have difference in player styles(contradictions explained below). For example, at lvl 3 all shinigami learn Hadou 4: Byakurai which could be one of techniques used during the battle at the cost of 10(?) reiatsu points. The technique itself, Hadou 4: Byakurai, does 10 damage(guaranteed) plus an extra die roll of damage for every 5 levels above that, hence, a level 20 shinigami would have a chance of doing 10+ 3-18 damage total in that turn from Haudo 4. Each Kidou skill should be developed and there should be a description in the game manual what each does, you can always make something up for what each one will does.

Contradiction of skills: At level 8 shinigami will have a choice whether to learn shikai (self created, explained below) or to learn a Kidou that makes it look like shikai is a better option. If he chooses the Kidou, the option to learn shikai will be moved a few levels down to a level slot that will force contradiction again. If he, however, chooses shikai in that option, then he will no longer be able to learn that kidou skill from simply leveling up. He will have to pay gold at either Urahara shop or squad 12 barracks to learn that Kidou if he still wishes to have it, but not all techniques will be sold, there should be some that could never be learned after they are denied. You could also have 2 Kidou techniques contradicting at the same level, or a Kidou and a sword skill.

Self created shikai/bankai: Since you are already making signatures for members with their own shikai why not just use that? Players can submit a short description of what their shikai does/ or simply mimic one of those from the shows(which should cost gold lol). But the Captains should look over whether the shikai and bankai are good for the game, I mean you can’t have someone with a shikai that when activates “everyone dies right away” because its so dang powerful. You could develop this to be really interesting if you are willing to put work into it to try and make it fun. But if you don’t want to develop this idea you can always just say something like: For all shinigami shikai and bankai are simply damage without any interesting imaginary effects.

Also, instead of having “a sword attack with reiatsu” make that into a skill. Learn how to focus more reiatsu into the sword for more damage as your levels increase. To make it so that not everyone goes for Kidou only, make it so that some hallow are resistant to Kidou techniques. You can tie it somehow to the Element idea that Tyson had.

Sorry this turned out kind of long. I’ll be looking forward to the new rpg.

You have some very good idea's there Akihiko ^^ I really like the idea of including Kidou after all it’s a very important part of being a Shinigami. But I think we can rule out Bankai for now since normally it’s only the Captains that have a Bankai. As for Shikai that is another good idea I agree with ^^.

@Tyson: thanks but at this point I'm just too lost so for now I'll just be a judge, my RPG skills are limited to the basic story type RPG like the old ones. But after I watch for awhile I'll get the hang of it ^^.

Yes, kidou will probably be a big part of the RPG since kidou is like the magic from RPG games :P

As for the way they will be learned or can be learned, that will have to be planned by Pyro-san himself.

And you know, I've been thinking that there are indeed exceptions of who can learn Bankai outside the Captains in the anime series. So, what I think could be done to implement that to the RPG is this:

Shinigami - Only a few Shinigamis know Bankai, like Ikkaku and Yumichika. And my best bet would be that their combat level is actually above than the average Shinigami and maybe even above Lieutenant, since it has been mentioned by themselves that they have only remained as seated officers cause they didn't want to leave the 11th division, and Yumichika's easy victory over 9th division Lieutenant Hisagi. So, my advice would be that in the RPG, if a Shinigami wants to learn Bankai, he or she has to decline the Lieutenant promotion at lv. 15 and reach lv. 20 as Shinigami. And after that, if they want to be promoted, they have to level up 10 more levels for Lieutenant and then 10 more levels for Captain. In the end, your promotions will be later than normal, but you'll be able to learn Bankai sooner than lv. 30.

Lieutenant - Very few Lieutenants have learned Bankai, like Abarai Renji. And I also noticed that Renji's kidou skills are horrible! xD Which makes me come to the following advice. For a Lieutenant to be able to learn Bankai, he or she can only learn 2 kidou abilities and discard the rest, then they will be able to learn Bankai at lv. 25, but in order for them to get promoted to Captain, they need to level up to lv. 40!

Captains - Most Captains already learned their Bankai, but of course, there are exceptions like the powerful Zaraki Kenpachi. So, that makes me come to the following advice xD If a Shinigami wants to be physically stronger then the other Captains when he or she gets promoted at lv. 30, they must decline the right to learn their Shikai, Kidou and Bankai from the start. This will result in them not having variety in their attacks, but, each time they level up, their stat boosting will be double than the rest.

For example:

Normal Shinigami levels up, they can:

a) Increase their HP by 10
b) Increase their Attack power by 2
c) Increase their Defense power by 2
d) Increase their Reiatsu by 10
e) Increase their kidou by 10 (If they know how to use kidou)

But, if a Shinigami that declined their rights to learn their Shikai, Kidou and Bankai levels up ... I'm gonna call them Brute Force Shinigami XD

Brute Force Shinigami levels up, they can:

a) Increase their HP by 20
b) Increase their Attack power by 4
c) Increase their Defense power by 4
d) Increase their Reiatsu by 20

So as you can see, each time a Brute Force Shinigami levels up, the stat he or she decides to boost will be boosted twice as much as the Normal ones, thus making them physically stronger than the others, but lacking the abilities of using Kidou, Shikai and Bankai. (Note that Brute Force Shinigamis do not have the option of boosting their kidou since they can't learn it.)

Those things just came to my mind right now xD It will create variety among all Shinigamis in how they will change as they progress, and not be exact copies of one another :]

While we are talking about Captains and Lieutenants I wanted to say that maybe we should go with how the series chooses its leadership. I don't really know how much responsibility there is on the ranks in this group, but you should not simply give out high ranks simply because someone has reached a certain level. Captains and Lieutenants can be suggested by Captains after those demonstrated their skill in the game and forum activity. For Captains, there might be some kind of a test although I have no idea what that could be. If one simply cannot pass a test, or wishes to replace an already existing Captain seat he can try getting it the Kempachi way by fighting that Captain and winning of course that should have its own penalties if the challenges looses.

*Off topic: There should be a Speed skill, if it is high the user gets an extra attack or a higher chance of escape.*

I was actually thinking about the status gain after each level up as I was going to sleep yesterday (sad, I know) and I ended up at a slightly different way than you Tyson. Now this way is completely different from when I first suggested in my previous post which could change it quiet a bit, but I still want to put it forward since I think it might work really well. After each level up, instead of having Captains worry what status increase, that shinigami can simply be awarded skill points which he can choose for whatever he pleases. And the amount of skill points he is awarded can vary with levels (maybe more in higher levels).

Lets say he gets 10 points during a certain level up, he can use that points to raise his status (ie 1 skill point boosts max hp by 3, 2 skill point boosts max atk by 5) or save those points for later to buy techniques from a shop (ie Hadou 90 at the cost of 150 skill points which is quiet a bit for low levels and maybe not that much at lvl 50, bakudou 1 at the cost of 5 skill points etc). Similarly, sword skills will cost so many skill points and shikai/bankai so many points.

The issue with this is that it might have some instability if a shinigami chooses an extreme from the very start. Like lets say using all of his points for attack. But you guys can stop it from happening by putting on some kind of limitations.

And to confusion level increases ~(@_@)~ emoticon

I thought I should say that if we make this RPG to complex less people are going to be willing to play it so maybe we should just concentrate on getting it started before adding any more.

I think there can be things taken out of both of our suggestions. It's up to Pyro-san to see what he thinks is best to implement to the RPG :]
