Stalker Activity 8: Cover Art
Rules and Guidelines
1. Entries can either be in the size of a typical album/dvd cover or in a wallpaper format.
Album cover size must be 12cmx12cm, dvd cover 12.9cmx18.4cm. For wallpapers, minimum size is 1280x1024pixels.
2. Must choose a non-anime album/dvd which is related to Stalkers or the act of Stalking.
a) It could be lyrics from a song in the album that contains words like:
"im watching you...", "watching your every move", "i'll follow you..." and etc.
(you don't have to include the lyrics. Just mention it in your description along with your entry as proof that it is related to the Stalker theme.)
b) If you choose a dvd cover. You must choose a movie that revolves around the stalking theme. I believe there are a couple of movies which is related to this theme. In fact there's even a movie called "Stalker". Just google it. ;D
3. Recreate that album/dvd cover in anime style.
While following the original album/dvd cover as closely as you can.
4. Submit an example of the original album/dvd cover along with your entry.
Also add in a description about it (if needed).
5. Send entries to me through PM before 22nd of September.

@Hima-Homa: The challenge in this contest is to find the right scans for recreating a cover. If original art would be allowed, you could just simply vectorize an album cover and you'd be done. Or at least you wouldn't have any problem adjusting perspective and lightning since you can draw it good right away. But lets see what the others say.

I have to say, I'm not up for the idea of having an original art accepted. Just like what Golden Ape said, finding the right scan is crucial for this contest. If original art gets accepted, the contest becomes that much easier. I shouldn't say easier. It removes so much work and effort.

It's pretty hard to find a good album that got both a stalker-related song and a nice cover.
I guess damoser got the same issue as me, which is having found a nice cover, but not really a stalker-related song on it. In my case, the song is about hiring someone to get a 'dirty job' done, examples given in the song are murder and taking care of a broken heart, but it could as well be about stalking :D Does that count?

The point is you need to make an anime cover based on a non-anime cover. That Death Note wall is an excellent example, because MinstrelKnight took a Pink Floyd album and replaced the people with DN characters.
I also don't get why Omnidevils wallpaper would be a better example, since it's the same concept.
