Hello,
I'm from Belgium and sudoko has just become a big hit last year or so... And I was just wondering a bit why... Not why is it a hit cause like all of us we know why we love this game. But more about why didn't we ever heard of it before?
And why did this game got almost at the same time in US and in Europe? (pretty strange cause normally things never happen at the same time on those two continents).
And why not also talk about the sudoku in our country.
Here in Belgium you can find one in every papernews you read. But it's almost about it... If you want to make some more you gonna need to buy some books or go on the net.
So let's talk a bit :) How is it in your country?

Well, I live in Brazil, and Sudoku has become a big hit here last year, too. It just appeared from nothing.
I've never seen a Sudoku puzzle in the newspapers here (usually they put crossword puzzles), but now you can buy little - and big - magazines full of them, and they're cheap so you don't need to search on the net every time. Also one day I was walking down the street when I saw a shop that was selling a book - "Learning Sudoku with Manga" lol
But yeah, I didn't understant why this game got almost at the same time in every places. õ_o'

I live in the Philippines. Sudoku was a hit last year too, but not that big of a hit. And we have them too in our daily newspapers and there are a lot of Sudoku books that you can buy in bookstores. They also released a Pinoy Sudoku version, mostly the same except for the levels.

Here in Belgium we also have what they call Samurai sudoku... Cause in stead of having only one sudoku you have 5 making a sort of cross. It's the same rules except that four square are common for two sudoku.
It looks harder but in fact it's easier cause you get more infos for the shared parts. :)
It's strange that sudoku suddenly appeared on two continents...
