Well the last competetion went good thanks to *jebelbryan efforts and with the help ~LadySaotome, so this time i was thinking if we could make two teams, one that will be in favour and the other in agaisnt,

i havent thought of the topic yet, so i want your opinion on this as of what you think of it, and if you have any other ideas plz tell us, plus the topic could be of any type, it can even be simple story or day to day life matters.

K, how about this for an idea: There's two nations in a very big valley almost completely surrounded by mountains. They've been at war for about five generations and the reasons for it have been lost and distorted through time. The valley is divided by a river, there's a lake at one end of the valley also.

The war actually started because there had been animosity over water rights growing for some time and one day three young people from one side where found dead by an aqua-duct just over the river. They had a visitor's pass and where on a business errand for the parents of one of their number. Those parents just so happened to be on the ruling council of the country they where from. It came to be believed by those parents that their child had been murdered.

Soon after, there where a few more deaths, tensions rose and finally broke, and war broke out. The truth of the matter was that an arms dealer had set out to cause this war and had arranged for the murders so that the war would start and they could move in and make a fortune.

The arms dealer is long dead, but his descendants still profit from the war and keep the secret of it's genesis to themselves.

The valley is also home to a race of spirits who live in the forest and the lake, and they have long sense grown wary of this war, many of their kind having suffered or died as a result of the two nations' war. They where peaceful by nature, and lacked the force necessary to oppose either side, even where they so inclined to do so (which a number of them where beginning to be).

A plan was finally arrived at by their ruling elders; they would spend a portion of their collective magic to give two of their kind the seeming and likeness of young humans. One would go to each side and begin a movement among historians and scholars to get to the truth of how the war started. The elders among the spirits had a suspicion as to how the war started, but they had no real proof, nor was their race well thought of by either side, so they knew voicing their suspicions would be useless (and possibly dangerous).

A few years later, both of the disguised spirits had succeeded in getting themselves into positions of respect and influence, had found friends and colleagues to help them, and they each began their search for the truth. Their jobs are not easy, the ways of war have been deeply entrenched in both cultures, and some among each side might view attempts at peace or the questioning of accepted history to be treasonous. Not to mention the fact that the arms dealers definitely would not like the idea of anyone examining too closely the beginning of the war, lest they find themselves in, well, quite a lot of trouble.

My idea is that one team will take the story of the search for truth on each side of this war. Keep in mind that the histories of both countries have naturally been skewed over the years to blame the other side for any number of wrong doings to justify the war. Also, the ultimate goal is peace, so at the end (assuming both teams decide to have their disguised spirit delegate find success), there would have to be some way for the sides to come together and expose the truth and start to talk to bring about an end to the war.

Well, that's my idea anyway, hope you like it n_n

do you come up with these things its simply amazes me.

Ummmm....the front page said that this competition has already started....we kind of need some more details and direction to go with in order for this to be a competition. If we're going to do a team thing, there needs to be some organizing of them and the person running the contest (hitome-sakura) will need to know who the teams are before hand so that we know if there's even people participating. Additionally, some deadlines are necessary so people can schedule and have a timeline to work with. I'm pretty busy with a lot of stuff right now and will not be about to help out with this competition like I did with the last one. :/

Glad you like it ^_^ for how I come up with stuff like that, that is probably the one thing I am most skilled at actually... It almost seems like I've been working on my ability in that area sense I was born for some reason, so I've got an abundance of practice n_n

Well, as far as what I wrote, both sides will start with basically the same premise; the only difference being which team would take the side of the river where the first murders took place, and which team would take the side of the river from which the murder victims came. Other than that, I guess we'd just need to get people to sign up and then split them into teams and go from there somehow...

Alright its quite long enough now, and we haven't gottne many ideas from the members, i dont know whether everyone is just too busy or dont care, anyway to clearify this competetion, we are going to divide the participants into two groups, depending on the conditions, moreover i also happen to have a simple humour and funny sort of idea for this competetion, plus i am thinking of sending pm's to everyone, those who are interested at least tell me that you will participate, at least one should play its part if one commeted to join a group.

I'm just wondering when the next contest will be.

That sounds pretty interesting!!!! My idea was just to make an epilogue to any book you please... but that would probably be some form of copyright, so nevermind!

We will see about that.

Umm... I don't know if you have apply august199's idea or not, but it sounds really interesting to me.
Btw, newbie here, so I'm not really sure about what you are talking,
it is about an idea for competition in Writer's Block, right?
How about making synopsis? Genki's idea is nice too.
