3D Monkey
Some of you might know I'm studying Communication and Multimedia Design, which is basically just real work, but without the paycheck and big responsibilities. There's no nasty books to learn and tests to make, so you might imagine I was actually quite happy being back in college again after a long summer holdiday. Anyway, for the next 20 weeks, I decided to focus on a very ambitious 3D/game project that basically include making a prototype simulation of a sports event in a new-to-build IMAX-like theatre (360 degrees screen). I don't know what it's gonna be exactly, that depends on the sponsors, but it might be something like a Snowboarding simulation in which visitors can actually control the action with a realistic moving snowboard 'controller'. To accomplish that I possibly get to work with Motek CAREN software, which is mainly used for medical applications, but in different form also used for motion capturing for games and movies. And that's just kick-ass. Also, I will learn a lot about making 3D environments, which I might be able to use for future artwork or other projects. I'm really looking forward to all of that.
Anyways, you might understand I'm getting even more busy now, which means I need to postpone my current wallpaper project a bit (hope to finish it by next week).
Also GoldenApe.net is still under construction and will take a while too, although I've got fantastic ideas for my site that I can't wait to work out.
Naturally, I keep you updated in my journal here.
