Rant: Translated Anime's and The Atlantic Gap
Hi there.
Why are the english voices on Anime translations terrible!! I mean, I just bought Ah! My Goddess 1, and Negima 101 and, although I like the dialouge in both, I think that the voices are terrible compared to the japanese. Negima especially, Negi in Negima doesn't sound 10, Asuna sounds too harsh, Nodoka's voice doesn't suit her, niether does Yue's, Makie just sounds too old...the list goes on and on. Ah! My Goddess isn't so bad, but still, it just doesn't capture me like the japanese voices.
What also bother's me is this, I live in the UK, and we don't have a major Anime/Manga scene, this means that we have to wait 2-3 months after the american market before we can get any of the new Anime's. I know a website that'll send me the DVD's before their released, but only by about a week, which, by that time, i've heared all sorts of story's on the DVD's I like the look of.
It's rubbish, It's brill, It's soso...I mean, i don't know what the hell your on about untill I see the anime in a coupple of months. it's disgraseful. and i believe that We, the UK market, are missing out on some of the US market's material. The only way i can try to keep up with the trends is to watch as much as I can on Youtube, and i'm slightly upset about it.
Phew, now that done, I can get back to reading the forums and watching youtube.
Catch ya later.
