PM me if it works. Fri, 04 Nov 2005 22:14:12 -0500 !blaaple http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ Actually, greasy food can effect your skin.

try staying away from greasy/fried foods. eating the things that vbob has said should help as well. this may seem wierd but cutting a slice of tomato and rubbing it on your face is a good way to get rid of acne (i learned this from a scientist). this also might sound wierd buuuuuuuuuuut......before you go to bed, put some dabs of toothpaste on the spots you have pimples at and then go to bed, wake up, and wash it off. they turn so small and won't be as noticable.

home made facial scrubs and masks work well too. try searching 'homemade face wash' on google and u'll find a whole bunch of recipes.

oh yea, proactive really does work...

is really disgusting! Fri, 04 Nov 2005 20:13:20 -0500 `chichiri1907 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ For me every morning and n=before I go to sleep I wash my face with St. Ives Apricot Radiance (acne mediacted),
I mean I tried Proactive Natures Cure biore and all that creme stuff but this cleanser helped me so much that in less than 2 weeks all my acne was gone :)
I was so happy and now I use that stuff everyday so I hope that helps you

P.S. dont touch your face, #1 rule and its so hard to break so try not to :)

Sun, 30 Oct 2005 11:14:57 -0500 ~lyla http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ I don't suffer from acne but my sister does, i recomend you use a product called "Vilantae" it's not a cream it's some kind of pill, it stops excessive skin oil from being released, the oil is the main cause of spots. My sisters been using it for 2 weeks now and shes already seen alot of difference already. It also prevents back, chest and shoulder acne, also reduces pore size, and has minimal side effects. Sun, 30 Oct 2005 10:34:12 -0500 ~angeloflight http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ Omg! i have the same problem. i used oxy cleansers and they work the best. they dry out your skin and the "white stuff" in the acne and apparently it gets better through time. Sun, 30 Oct 2005 10:00:46 -0500 ~Halcyone http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ My dermatologist also said that your diet doesn't affect your acne. He said it was hereditary, which makes since because my parents both had it bad and I have EVIL MUTANT ACNE. I'm serious.

Proactiv did nothing but discolor my shirts. Accutane, which was supposed to knock out my acne for AT LEAST two years, only worked for a little over one. Now I'm on some antibiotics and I have a topical cream (which makes my face peel, but at least I was zit-free). They worked for a while, but now my acne has come back with a vengeance. I swear, it's like some sort of super mutant beast... You can try one thing on it for a while, but then it grows stronger and mutates to absorb your attack!

I do reccomend Accutane. But you have to have a blood test... and other stuff to take it. I might see if I can go back to that the next time I go see my dermatologist. The only reason I decided on the antibiotics instead of Accutane was because of the side-effects. Accutane really dries out your skin, especially your hands and lips. I had to carry lip mosturizer with me wherever I went and put it on at least 4 times a day. Lotion was also a regular, and even then my hands were very dry (and they aren't at all usually--I rarely need lotion). Mon, 24 Oct 2005 01:01:21 -0400 ~evalasteninx http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ I don't have a problem with acne but i still use a face mask regulary or some kind of cleanser. i'd say neutragena or cetaphil are very good. Mon, 24 Oct 2005 00:31:13 -0400 ~mewkiki http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ Well here are some tips

-Wash your face every night before you go to bed [try not to use scented soaps which can irritate skin and make acne worse, look for products and soaps that say "HYPOALLERGENIC" ;once in a while use the stridex face wipes- they help alot]

-If you ever get whiteheads or blackheads POP THEM before they get worse, wash yer face then put a little stridex on it [stridex helps to get rid of the redness and prevents breakouts to scar]

-If you ever are faced with peeling, wash yer face with cool water, then put on a little moisturizer [Only use Oil free, unscented moisturizer, or else your in for it]

-I really dont think FOOD has ANYTHING of the sort to do with acne [its just something parents say to make you eat healthier -so dont listen to that crap!!] But just try not to eat to much greasy foods...i think that DOES have something to do with acne

-dont put your hands on your face unless they're CLEAN!!

-Change your pillocase 1 a week, cuz it gets dirty with oil from face and hair

These tips are very helpful, and they work on me, so dont be afriad to try them! ^^ Sun, 23 Oct 2005 16:03:06 -0400 ~Lyrical-Esu http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ I have none o.o

It should be that time for me to get acne and stuff but my face is very clear Sat, 22 Oct 2005 21:51:51 -0400 ~yuuen http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/

My dermatologist told me that diet doe snot affect acne. Most of the time it is hereditary. Anyways, accutane works wonders, but it has many many side-effects. Speak to your doctor :o

That's interesting - genetics and acne. I've never been told about that, not even from my dermatologist. Personally, most of my family (and certainly my parents) do not have acne, so that makes me more unsure of the validity of genetics playing a significant role in acne. My worst case was around junior high, where I ate just about anything - especially junk food. I suspect puberty also affects it to some degree, what with the hormonal imbalances. Sat, 22 Oct 2005 19:01:10 -0400 Machiavellism http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ Food definately effects my complexion...so, I pretty much stopped drinking pop and eating greasy food ;_; Oh well, I'm sure other parts of my body thanked me for the change too XD

Invest in some of those little Clearasil wipes that come in a little can thingie. Keep it in your bag and whenever you get done eating, or just have a break, screw open the jar and use it. It'll help dry up the oil on your face and keep it clean. Stress could also play a major role too. I found out that once I had graduated from high school...my acne breakouts suddenly stopped o_o

But, if none of the over-the-counter medicines are working, then see a dermatologist. Usually they end up putting you on a antibiotic.

-I've heard of Proactiv and have seen it on tv...heard that it works very well...maybe I should try it myself...If it gets that bad anyway. Sat, 22 Oct 2005 14:33:08 -0400 ~princessclover01 http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ I had some problems a few years ago with acne >.< i tried some creams and stuff, but they didn't really work and some of the fashwashes REALLY dried out my skin (yucky).. you don't wanna have your face be SOO dry, b/c in the end your body will produce more oil which will actually make your acne worse ((aka the beach, for a moment you're acne clear cuz of the salt water, but then your bursting with zits >.<))... so whenever you wash your face, i'd go for a (non greasy) face moisturizer so that your face won't be so dry... then i did carry around some of those "wipes" that you use to wipe the oil off your face during midday or whatever ((cuz my face would be all shiny by noon >.<))

but yea.. just make a plan and stick with it.. plus acne does go down once you're older ((i'm 18 and it's gone down a lot since i was 16)), but due to school stressing i am breaking out again, and much go back to my regime so it goes away again... Sat, 22 Oct 2005 09:47:41 -0400 ~spermbank-tycoon http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ I do have some acne clearing face wash and I know that they do work well for me, but I'm just too lazy so I kinda let my pimples grow. I don't really care. Bio Zinc helps a little with pimple clearing. try it. Just don't be lazy if you want clear skin. Sat, 22 Oct 2005 08:46:12 -0400 *jolynda http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ Hmm i don't get acne, and i eat whatever i want.
i just wash my face once a day with some of that nivea young face washing thingy... Sat, 22 Oct 2005 08:36:24 -0400 ~Xuco http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/ My dermatologist told me that diet doe snot affect acne. Most of the time it is hereditary. Anyways, accutane works wonders, but it has many many side-effects. Speak to your doctor :o Sat, 22 Oct 2005 02:23:55 -0400 ~yuuen http://www.animepaper.net/forums/rss/10917/

dont touch your face with your hands, especially if you lean on them, cuz i notice i break out where i usually lean my hands on. i also switch acne face washes every two weeks. i dont know why but when i keep to one face wash for a period of time i start breaking out but right when i switch to something else it dies down o_o. haha. i also use those pore strips once in awhile... drie your face out before you use it, i found it to be the most effective when your face is dry. other than that, a dermatologist might be a good idea :D

The pore strips don't stick to a dry nose, though. o.O

Definitely go for a healthier diet and stay away from greasy junk food, as mentioned. I had a pretty bad acne problem when I was younger. The doctors (none of whom were actually dermatologists) gave me all types of cream, including Retin-A, which I stopped using because it dried out my skin. Everything was peeling. >.> My dermatologist later injected something into the acne itself. It was pretty weird, having a hypodermic needle poking my face. Combined with the cream and face wash she gave me, it worked very well. Then I stopped and just stuck to a particular diet, drank a lot of fluids. (I also use The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil now as a face wash, which also actually helped me a lot, since my skin is fairly sensitive.) Fri, 21 Oct 2005 18:55:04 -0400
