Jin-Roh

Jin-Roh is on my list of top 5 anime movies ever. It has an interesting story to tell with a twist at the end. With interesting characters and an 'alternate history' with constant reference to a beloved children story. The cel animation is brillant with little or no cgi (probably one of the last 'old-school' animation' and the direction is tight. A lot of peoplel complained about the pace of the show but I find that it adds to the overall dark and moody theme of the movie. And I think the pacing was delibrate.

For my book, it was way better than Escaflowne, which did not blew me away the way Jin Roh did.

Yeah i found out that the manufactuor cancelled my order for Jin-Roh due to the fact that its no longer produced....Im very very pissed....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I like it. It's an interesting look at the Red Riding Hood story. Can a wolf stop being what he is and live a peaceful life as something else? (you'll see what I mean when you watch it) The end answers that question very succinctly. There's no plan for a sequel atm nor is there really a need for one.

Is the soundtrack as good as Escaflowne's? Im a big fan of Yoko Kanno, I absolutley wear out the Esca OST, I have literally listened to the OST like 74 times no joke, plus when i first saw the trailer on the Esca DVD, what really sparked my interest ws that its said that the same people that did The Escaflowne OST did Jin-Roh sooo.... I mailed the order this past tuesday, and am haveing it shipped UPS 2-5 day delivery, anyone wish to guess when I'll get it?

none that i know of.it just ended weard. like he killed that girl then he walked of. i havent sean it in a wile but i rember there was a speach and i allwayes figured there was a second

I really enjoyed it cause the plot of the movie was good and compliacted, and it showed off how good cell animation can be. The music helps sets the mood of the show perfectly. Also the camera angles in the movie were good.

I've seen Jin-Roh, and it was worth buying/watching. It's very grim and dreary, though--much like Texhnolyze, actually. There's little color in it (aside from blood, heh), and the character designs are relentlessly realistic. It's almost too much, coming all at once. But it has an interesting and well-constructed message. And the violence is meaningful, not gratuitous.

JIn-ROh is a good movie. I say good becuase it is long and drawn out. Otherwise it is enjoyable.

Plot is deep alright, but I didn't enjoy it that much (it was Ok, don't take me wrong). The things I enjoyed most were the animation and atmosphere. I have also always liked "what-if" -type history so this was good entertainment for me from that angle too. I recommend.

I loved Jin-Roh. It had some really great animation, plus anything that has a nazi reference is automatically cool in my book. It has a very in-depth plot that might take a few viewings to fully understand, but if you liked escaflowne you should like this. The armour design and weapons are freaking auesome...

I enjoyed Jin Roh, very interesting movie indeed. Like what the above post said, if you liked the Escaflowne movie then you will probably like Jin Roh.

I really liked Jin-Roh. It was an interesting story that included quite a few elements. I think if you liked Escaflowne: The Movie you will like Jin-Roh (same kind of story elements - action, philosophy, drama, etc). It has some really good animation as well. Once you watch it, you'll have to post back and let us know what you think.

I'll have to track down that catalogue ... sounds interesting!

I'm about to order the movie "Jin-Roh" from what ive read and what ive seen of the trailer, it looks pretty good,
but then again I could be wrong, its an "anime legend" so says Bandai, I bought Escaflowne: The Movie cause it said it was a "Anime Legend" and I love(d) it, plus I get the soundtrack and stuff :)

oh yeah....has anyone heard of The Right Suf company? I got their catalog in the mail last week, its really cool
clothes, bags, anime, manga, plush toys, keychains, pins, necklaces, im also ordering Bleach vol. 9, and a cool Full Metal Alchemist keychain, looks like Ed's pocket watch (the State's emblem).
